Automatic pool cleaner recommendation

I've been using an older dolphin for the past few years and have been pretty happy with it. I bought it on Craigslist for $150 though. It finally died and will probably cost more than it's worth to fix. I think it's a cable issue. My booster pump isn't working so I'm probably going to stay with an electric cleaner. What are you using and how do you like it?

Someone gave us a Hayward Sharkvac XL. Does ok, but is it worth the $800 price tag? Jury is still out. Annoying that it gets hung up “high center” on the pools intakes. Have to keep an eye on it when you drop it in.

I purchased a Maytronics Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus based on recommendation by many on the Outdoor board a couple years ago, plus numerous positive on-line reviews. I’ve been happy with it. It’s a couple years old.

I have the Dolphin Discovery. Love it. Cleans walls and waterline tiles. Be prepared to spend north of $700 for a good robot.

I also have the Maytronics Dolphin CC Plus. I purchased it in February $749. It’s been the best decision I’ve made in the 6 years I’ve had the pool.

The Polaris I inherited when we bought our home is on its last leg, constantly having to replace parts for another few weeks of decent performance, so also interested.

I've had a Dolphin for two years and I highly recommend it. The only thing I don't like is that it only runs two hours at a time without having to manually start it again.

Question for Dolphin owners:
Do you leave your robot in the pool all the time, and just take it out for swimming?
I have a Polaris that is on a schedule to run every morning. I leave it in the pool all the time, and just pull it out when we use the pool. Wondering if I can do the same if I buy a Dolphin.

I left it in the pool all the time but mine was older and I could not set it to auto start. I would hit the button every few days. I'm not sure if they have that option now.

I recently switched from the pressure side polaris to the Dolphin robot. I had my Polaris set to run every day. The manufacturer says that you can leave the Dolphin in, but recommends storing it outside of the pool.
I have been placing it in the pool a few days a week and letting it run for 2 hours, cleaning the filters, then packing everything up and storing outside of the pool. It is a bit of a process, not near as easy as the Polaris.
However, it does an amazing job. It pulls/scrubbs all kinds of stuff that the Polaris didn't, so I guess it is worth it!

Many people do leave it in the pool, but I remove mine every time. I would think leaving it in all the time would shorten the life. I don't need to clean my pool every day. I run it maybe once every 2 weeks, clean the filters, coil it up, and put it in my "toy" box outside.

Yes I pretty much leave in all the time except to remove it clean filters or swim. Will also usually remove it when dosing/shocking the pool with high levels of chlorine.

I leave my dolphin in all the time and it is 6 years old with no problems. I figured they are made to be submerged and I am lazy when it comes to pool cleaning so I just reset the program box once a week and call it good!
I do clean the bag out at that time also.
