A house? You mean like a home?

This. Structurals suck at doing soil borings etc, amd most geotechs tend to forget how to do beam and moment calcs.

For a house? Unless it’s an unusual house or in an unusual area, a boring and geotechnical report is overkill. There are maps and other resources to get the general info. Any engineer worth his salt should be able to design a residential foundation without it. Spend that money on some nice countertops or shutters instead.

I used Michael Stein with Stein Lasseigne, Inc. They are located off of Coursey Blvd. in B.R. I was very satisified with his work and report.
