Whatever this is keeps popping up in different places around my front yard. Any idea what it is and the best way to get rid of it? It gets pretty tall and starts to develop a woody stem in between mowings.

What are you taking photos with, a digital camera from the 1990s?

FWIW, based on the colors, it almost looks like a crape myrtle. A better photo might help you get an answer.

Maybe Bradford Pear seedlings? You have any In the area? Birds will distribute the seeds. Whatever it is, repeated mowing of the lawn will kill the seedlings over time.

Sorry, first time posting a photo on here. Hopefully this one is better. I do have a couple of crepe myrtles in the yard. These pop up all over the place.

Any good way to get rid of them? I've been mowing over them for some time.
