Transplanted tomatoes yesterday. They don't look very happy today 
First round of broccoli has it first set of true leaves. Second round and cauliflower was started today.
So far, I'm on time with everything...for once. But it's still early.

i'm not planting or doing anything until i know its going to rain. too much work in this heat to take any chances. i still havent demo'd the spring garden yet

Normally, I don't worry too much with a fall garden. But I never could get my tomatoes over blossom end rot from the heavy rains, so we're playing a little catch up on canned tomatoes.

My 2 Hossinator Tomato plants are still alive from the Spring. Looks like they'll make again once it starts cooling off. Also trying Broccolini, Rutabaga and Carrots for the first time.

My cream peas are still producing which is in the raised bed that I plant turnip greens. I may not get any turnip greens this year.

I mowed down my what appeared to be dead purple hulls to get ready for a fall plant and 3 days later there were leaves everywhere. I figured WTH, I'll leave them to see what they do.

Just preordered some camarosa strawberry plugs. They’ll ship in October. I tried festival in the spring but they slowly just all died. I still have a handful of plants hanging on but they look rough in this heat. They started dying out in the spring just randomly. One by one. Don’t know if it’s a soil issue or what. But I’m going to have to take a good look at that before planting the next crop.

I am done with strawberries. Between not being able to keep up with the water demands and being too lazy to deal with birds, I just can't keep on.

I’ve never had too much of an issue with birds. They’ll get some but I still usually harvest plenty. I think they’re more focused on the blackberries. Which, they can help themselves. They produce way more than I can eat!

How are you keeping up with watering? We are in the same area, and I’m not retired so it’s tough!
4wks no rain at my house, steady 100dg weather. About 35 drops today and likely mandatory water restrictions incoming.

Each morning around daylight my wife starts watering the garden while I water the plants. I water the lawn two days a week and I start at 5 AM. It takes about two hours to water the lawn. I am afraid of what the water bill will be this month. We did get a few drops of rain today.

Ison's nursery. They're in Georgia. I ordered from them before and everything came in great condition.
ETA: They sell plugs instead of bare roots. Nothing wrong with bare roots but I figured plugs would be a little bit of a head start.

That's exactly why I was wanting to try plugs this year and compare the difference. I am rebuilding my strawberry beds making them 2 feet high and filling them 18"inches. I think it will make it easier for me to make a cover to keep birds and other pest out. Thanks for the quick reply.
