Pillage, is it too late to add the calcium nitrate?
To what? Strawberries? I actually have coming up in my calendar to add calcium nitrate to strawberries, garlic, and onions on March 18th. I’m not growing garlic this year but this will be my second app of calcium nitrate this spring.
So, short answer, no. Not too late.

I waited to plant based on the forecast for Thursday night. I figured even if I put the tomatoes in the ground yesterday, they wouldn't do anything. Will plant everything out either Friday afternoon or Saturday.

Had not planned to do anything yet. Ended up with a beautiful Sunday with the wife off work. I said, let's go to Home Depot. All I really wanted was Atrazine and nitrogen. I get separated from her and then see her pushing a flat bead full of perennials. Some $290 later, we leave with those, mulch, cherry tomatoes, multiple peppers, zucchini, basil, parsley and cucumbers
Redid two beds that lost all their lantana and heather and planted 3 small raised beds and several pots.

Why not zucchini, basil, parsley and cucumber seed instead of the plant ?

at my local feed store i can buy a 3-pack of all or most of those things for $1.50. Its just not worth the hassle for my small garden to plant anything but beans from seeds. Also helps I'm fine with the standard generic varieties they carry.
If anyone has a Stines nearby they also carry 6-packs for $3. Screw Walmart,Homedepot, lowes for charging their stupid high prices.

I respect everyone who starts from seed. For most things I buy transplants it’s just easier and I’m lazy. For stuff like carrots, melons and herbs though (can be direct sowed) I start with seed

Went to Sutherlands today and was surprised how much stuff they had. No shishitos though. Had to order seeds for those and mini cucs

The old folks always said there’s going to be a frost right before Easter.

dry and windy for the upcoming week in addition to the cold snap. Not ideal

With the wind and upcoming cold my seedlings (not sure I should call them that anymore since they’re about 18” tall and outgrowing the hell out their pots) are nestled safely in the garage until tomorrow. Then it’s planting time!

I'm sure its been asked but what variety of cucumbers do you all grow here? Slicing type is what I want to grow. In the past they have always grown all funny shaped like a ball with a little nub with big seeds. I want to grow them in grow bags this go around.
