Looks like a low of 34 in the forecast for the following Saturday. I guess I’m not out of the woods yet?

Looks like Fradella was on to something. I'm showing some upper 30's and low 40's next weekend. Gonna have to monitor for the time being. Definitely looks like planting is getting pushed back some.

Do upper 30s damage tomatoes? I've really gotta get mine in the ground this weekend.

Only if there is frost. They'll handle temps all the way down to just above freezing as long as there is no frost.

I haven't been using any lately. But normally for seedlings I use Miracle Gro All Purpose at a quarter of the recommended rate every 2 weeks.

ETA: I don't remember the last time I fed. Probably 3 or 4 weeks ago. I think the growth boom is just from the warmer weather that apparently will be interrupted pretty soon.

Yeah that's what has me thinking twice. Upper 30s due to a good radiational cooling situation can easily form frost. Just sucks. Half of February in the damn 80s, and now I'll probably have to put tomatoes in pots just get past this front.

Tired of being late and picking through leftovers, I bought everything today. Maters/bells/herbs and more strawberries. Birds already decimating my first plants.

How do you keep them from getting leggy? Every tomato from seed I've started turn leggy. My lights stay really close to the plant as they start in hopes to bush out more than go vertical. I'm also trying more p and k and less N in fertilizer

Bury them when you re-pot. Bury them when you plant.

I always had a problem with leggy plants until I upgraded to a high lux grow light. But like Sausage said, bury them deep and they'll be fine.

Got the drip irrigation in.

Looks like I’m up to a low of 47 next weekend now, from the mid-upper 30s a few days ago.

Question on mulching.

I have a lot of pine needles and mulched live oak leaves I can use for mulch. What would be best to use in the raised beds? One over the other overall, both, one over the rows and another between, etc?

Yep. I went from yesterday showing a low of 35 for next Saturday, to today showing a low of 47 for next Saturday. That’s quite the temperature swing.

I’ll keep an eye on it, but if it stays that way I may still plant out next weekend.

I’d just use both. They both make great mulch.

My wife did a fantastic job with these tags for the blueberries! They came out amazing. I may have to get her to make signs and labels for the whole garden now.

Also, the blackberries are starting to be loaded down with flowers and berries! Bees were all over them this afternoon, too.

Potatoes planted last week, corn planted today. Rowed up and ready for the rest of the seeds to go in in a week or so.

Those beds look dry AF baw. Put the kid to work and get those things mulched!

Also, models really inconsistent about next week's front. F it I'm planting today, and if I have to cover them next week then I'll deal with it.
