Man that weather last night was brutal. Completely unexpected. My plants took a beating too but nothing broke and they should be alright. I figured I'd take some photos since everyone else did. Everything is doing pretty well. Some of my tomatoes are a little behind because I dealt with that bacterial issue early on, but they're coming around.

Squash:

Ukranian pickling cucumbers:

Redskin pepper in front, Habanero in back:

Big Red bell pepper, Jimmy Nardello, and Jalapeno:

Big red bell:

Red Torch tomatoes:

Big beef:

Corno di toro giallo:

Islander:

New big dwarf:

Sweet success cucumbers:

Tiger zucchini:

Also, here's a picture of what I've been dealing with on a few peppers. It's a little frustrating because I've lost probably 5 fruits so far with it. If it's blossom end rot, I'll just deal with it, but I'm hoping it's not something actually bad like anthracnose. Any ideas? I'm thinking it's probably just BER because it's been on the bottom of all the fruits its affected. It's definitely not a calcium deficiency so maybe my watering was a bit inconsistent.

Everything looks beautiful and bountiful so far!

I’ve never seen anything like that on peppers. I’m not sure what could be causing it. Hopefully it resolves itself.

ETA: Here’s some of the damage from the weather last night. Nothing too bad. So they’ll be fine. Mostly the beans and cucumber plants took damage. Everything else was mostly fine.

Nice looking garden bluemoons.

Looks like you baws down in LA are at least 2-3 weeks ahead of me here in Cola in terms of growth.

The only reason I know you aren’t talking about Pensacola is because we went through this last year

Doesn't look like anthracnose to me. All photos I have seen of anthracnose shows circular areas with a discernable center "dot" as shown in Bing link below.

I fought this last year with my tomatoes.

Beds mulched, peppers staked, and first line of my florida trellis run for my maters.

Now bring on the monsoon tomorrow.

So far with this wind I’ve had one tomato plant bend over where it was tied to a pole and one of my Tabasco plants had a stem ripped off. Luckily that was topped when it was a seedling so it has plenty of other stems.

My cucumbers that had just taken a hold on my trellis got knocked off but I should be able to guide those back on.

Thanks man. I also grew them last year and they did really well. They’re basically the same as Carmen peppers but yellow. I thought they added a cool color to the garden. I also grew Escamillo peppers this year, so I’ll see how different those are, if at all. My peppers are kinda wonky this year. Lots of early fruit, but fighting that blossom rot issue so some plants are gonna be a little behind. I honestly think they just produced earlier than I expected and I got a little spoiled. I use my jimmy nardello and Carmen plants as “controls” just because I top them both and have had great success with both in the past. Neither are close to the point of turning red yet.

I have some red cherry tomatoes in the planter on my fence. Outside of that’s the first tomato to turn. I’ve been picking cucumbers for maybe 10 days and squash/zucchini for a couple weeks.

I’ve started seeing squash borer moths in the garden, so I started the 7 dust applications to squash and zucchini plants. I’ve also been having intermittent aphid issues with peppers. Every few days/week or so. I’ve been spraying neem oil but may spray bonide after all this rain gets out of here to try to get some residual effect on them.

Blue, that MAY be sun scald on the pepper. I lost a lot of peppers to sun scald last year due to a pest issue that made my plants drop a lot of leaves. Is is kind of papery feeling there? Look up sun scald on peppers. It is pretty early to be seeing it but this year's weather has been wonky to say the least.

That was a thought that crossed my mind as well. I think it's possible, but it would be surprising because the peppers I've lost weren't exposed to direct sun themselves. They're mostly protected by plant foliage. Who knows though.

Hoping that it'll resolve itself over time. Nothing new since I pulled that purple bell in the photo.

That happened to about 50% of my bell peppers last year. It was very frustrating to say the least. I haven't figured out what has caused it either. I

y'all ever have anything eat peas/beans that you planted before they have a chance to sprout? My beans are coming up pretty well but I had not had the first purple hull pea sprout so I started digging around looking for them and cannot find a single one we planted, but I did find a couple on top of the ground as if they had been dropped.

Thought I would share a little update:

Straight 8 taking over everything.

Burpless hybrid with it's first fruit.

Cajun Bells coming in.

Jalapenos.

Tomato #1. Also have a yellow cherry tomato plant blooming like crazy with a few fruits on there.

Well, the freeze here last night hurt me.

took out at least 3 of my tomato plants and one of my pepper plants.

Thought I had it covered well enough but it got a little below freezing and they just couldn't make it.

Oh well, good thing they were only 10 days in.

Yalls gardens are so much further along than my little patch.

6 celebrities, 1 grape, 1 black prince
3 bells
1 jalapeno
2 eggplants
6 straight 8 mounds

That is all I have room for, have trellis for cucumbers and all tomatoes staked, but nothing but a few blooms for now.

I’ve just caught my second mole. These little bastards have been tunneling all over my garden.

A freeze in April. That is just bonkers. We got down to the mid 40’s here and that’s crazy too.

I just caught my first cucumber beetle in the act. He flew off in wind before I had chance to kill. Ive noticed some chewed leaves earlier but now I have positive ID.

What is the Home&Garden recommendation on keeping these away? Pillage I see you mentioned these earlier and your photos show same signs. Did you get rid of them? How?

Unfortunately, my neighbor has a large garden only 30' from mine. He doesnt maintain his very well. Im afraid his garden is going to be a giant dinner bell for everything around no matter what I do.

I’ve had hardly any success in deterring them. Pesticides will kill them, but I don’t like spraying my cucumbers with anything too harsh because I don’t want to kill bees. I usually just thoroughly inspect my plants and then catch and kill them when I find them.

I've been hosing everything down with detergent/neem oil. The moment I see vine borer moths though I'm bringing out the Talstar. No mercy.
