Ah ok. Was hopeful I might be able to grow it (love passion fruit) but not gonna happen where I am in 8a.

Experienced tomato guys

I have around 10 seedlings that have sprouted but are still in their seed starter tray. They were originally at co-workers where he used a led light after we planted seeds. I put them on a window sill at my house and now they are drooped over. They were fine this weekend and brought them outside to expose them to sunshine/weather. I checked this morning and they are all flopped completely over. limp. Are they done for?

How long were they in the sun? Have they made a couple of true leaves yet, or still just the seed leaves?

Have you planted these before? This is the type I went with.

Sounds like they are outgrowing the starter tray, may need to move them into individual cups.

Maybe 6 hrs on Saturday and another 6 on Sunday. Some just the seed leaves. Roughly half had sprouted two more for a total of 4 on the plants. Roughly 1/2 and 1/2 going by the picture below

Thanks. Will stick with them and see if I can salvage. Hopefully they bounce back with some more room.

Might have exposed them to too much sun too soon. Especially that small. Even the brightest indoor lights don’t compare to sunlight. You could see if they bounce back by putting them in bigger cups. If any of the leaves start lightening up, they may have sun scorch. Indoor plants need to be hardened off slowly over a week or two.

Because it was indoors?? I used it in all my flowerbeds. I was choking half to death when spreading it, yet the squirrels were rummaging through there the very next day. I have bionic squirrels that are undeterable.

Is anyone using the square foot method?

How close to reality is a table like this?

I actually applied to the ground around the perimeter but the squirrel didn't need to get that far down to enter my shed so I threw some in the attic where he was nesting and haven't seen another one. I have seen where 1 chewed the plywood to get in but he didn't stay.

Had some armadillos living under my other shed and after talking to my neighbor behind me it seems I ran them back there so I gave him the rest of the jug to use at his house. I haven't talked to him about the outcome of that situation yet.

I kinda use the square foot method. I modified certain things a bit. It’s worked very well for me as long as the nutrients are kept up. Based on what I plant:

1sqft for peppers, chard, okra, and head lettuce, 4sqft for tomatoes, squash, and zucchini, 16 carrots per 1sqft, 4 cauliflower or broccoli per 9sqft, and 2 cucumbers per 1sqft (same hole).

I may have to try putting some down an armadillo hole. Maybe it will work for them. I wonder if it will piss the moles off enough to make them leave?

I should add that I plant squash and zucchini with cages. If you don't use cages, you may need more space than 4sqft.

Yesterday when I got home from work I checked the plants and 80% bounced back and were standing straight up. I lost 3 or so plants to sun scorch (I'm assuming). The leaves were brown. Actually did myself a favor because I didn't have the room for 10+ tomato plants.

Thanks all for the help. Did not know that they needed to be gradually worked outdoors. Will transfer to larger individual containers tonight.

Thanks for posting helpful links. Do you have any links to identify insects, infestations, etc and how to treat?
