Question for people that have used or are planning to use the Texas Tomato Food (TTF):
The directions say to use after fruit set. Does that mean the first fruits or several fruits? I have a couple of peppers already on a couple of plants, but the plants themselves are only 18"-24" tall. Should I wait for them to get taller and then start applying the TTF? My tomato plants are about 36" now with lots of flowers, but no fruits. So, I am definitely waiting until I apply it to those.

Apply it now. Don’t wait. All mine except one don’t have flowers and they grew almost double in a week

You mind sharing some seeds? I can come pick up if in BR

I wouldn't mind at all, but they're F1's and I don't have any left from my plantings
. As I understand it, Iyou can't save seeds from an F1 plant.

Thanks, just read up on F1’s - the offspring vary so your not guaranteed a similar plant.

What do the bugs look like? Neem oil works too.
I've had aphids on a couple of my pepper plants, but neem took care of that pretty quickly.

And if that fails, just hit them with Talstar. That stuff will nuke anything and everything.
But spray that stuff eaaaarly in the morning or at night. You don't want it on the blossoms when the bees come to pollinate....

2 TBS of this
Plus 1 TBS of this
Plus 1 gallon of water. That should take care of the bugs.

Excellent.

That stuff works wonders on small soft bodied insects. I will say, if you have a beetle or stink bug problem, you’ll need something stronger.

My peppers and cucs got hit with squash bugs last year. That's why I had to bust out the Talstar.
Oddly enough never had any on my squash, although the borers finally got to them in late summer. Manged to get a ton of squash/zuchinni out first though.

I found the same problem over the weekend. Thought they were white flies initially, but they were all concentrated near soil so I figured they were "fungus gnats".
I bought a bottle of this at Home Depot and have applied it 2-3 times since Saturday evening.

That’s a good rule to follow for pretty much anything you spray in the garden. Either early in the morning, or right before the sun goes down. Preferably in the morning.

I’m about to light my cucumber box on fire. Everything is doing great except them.
I transplanted some last week. Strong transplants with 4 true leaves. Last couple days, 1 hour of sunlight causes them to basically fall apart from wilting. I’m thinking that the box may be waterlogged from all the rain we got this weekend. The ones I direct sowed have sprouted fine, but these transplants are pissing me off.

Mine are growing so slow. The plants look really healthy, but they are just not growing at the same pace as everything else. Usually they grow the fastest!
I noticed 2 of my better boy plants have what appears to be early blight.

Just 2 of them, though. Everything else looks great. I pruned the bad leaves and I'm going to rotate Daconil and Mancozeb to hopefully protect everything else and pray it doesn't spread.
