With crawfish season right around the corner, I've decided to "invest" in a 2 sack crawfish boiler. The standard Creole Fest, Loco and King Kooker's that you see at hardware stores locally all have terrible reviews, all based around the burners and how long it takes to get water boiling. Most of the good reviews I've read are from good ole boys who actually say in their review that "after they removed the old burners and put their own in, the boiler is perfect."

Recommendations on a 2 sack boiler? One that I might not even know about?

Edit: Preferably one with a hinged basket so I don't have to lift on the cage anymore. Getting older....

TIA

Best cooker Ive ever used. Boils water super fast, brings it back super fast and is built well.

Man, I'd love to have that pot, but I was hoping for one with hinged basket. I'm getting too old to lift on those baskets with the amount of crawfish that I boil. I'm gonna end up with a walker....

If you are "investing" get one by Cajun Fryer. Some places just market them under "R&V" and might have them slightly cheaper.

Gary Mott’s in Rayne. Probably have them on the showroom floor, but if not they can custom build whatever you want. Everything we’ve gotten from them is first rate.

When you are finished checking around, post what each company quoted for their cookers.

Hughes is good people too, I'd be confident in their workmanship but don't have any personal experience in their rig.

I have a friend that passed away about 2 years ago that had one of Venables' boilers that he won in a raffle and it was a beast. His widow sold it after they used it for 8 or so years for around $3k so they're well respected/valued in our parts.

I have purchased 2 from Gator Pots out of Slidell. IMO, you will not find a better made pot with the versatility.
