Rename the OT Lounge to the Politics Board, v2

Seriously, half the threads on the main page right now should be over on the poliboard. Most of them are just insane gibberish rants about politics or just news articles about politics, so why not just shut down the OT and let the political psychos have another board to spam with nonsense?

the problem is those are the only people that start threads these days
the OT is full of Facebook boomers these days, so the topics reflect that
I hate it and its incredibly boring to see the same topics over and over again, but it isn't going to change
I'm just choosing to focus on the other boards, but the traffic just isn't the same
which TBH, all the other boards are what effectively killed the OT

Our culture is wrapped up in politics. See Pride, BLM, etc. They're inseparable.
I agree that overtly political stuff should be on Poli, but things that are relevant to everyday topics (education, national holidays, corporate PR campaigns, etc.) should stay on the OT.
The level of cultural/social/political discussion about these things is far, far better than on Poli.

The OT Lounge has been gutted by all of the other boards. Do we really need a separate board for music, books, travel? Throw that shite back on the OT and also bring back religion threads. The meltdowns were awesome.

It’s pretty exhausting and a big reason I don’t spend as much time on here as I used to. Every thread is the similar and has the same morons parroting the same lines. College kids don’t really do the whole message board thing like they did a decade ago so the board has been overrun by racist Facebook dads

Problem is the poliboard is heavily an ranty echo chamber, and it makes it hard to talk about actual politics there. There's a broader political spectrum on the OT. You'd probably get broader discussion on a topic regarding say political science or political history on the OT. Maybe a D-day is needed where every OT poster who doesn't buy into Q vows to venture to the poliboard and contribute with their political thoughts.
The Covid topics are probably correctly on the OT. The fact that every aspect of that is somehow rooted in political ideology is its own issue, separate from how a message board is managed.

Boobs, cripple fights, and investigations belong on the OT. “Politics is injected into everything nowadays” is lazy and is Facebook-esque
