I think the reason people who start these threads don't get a name change is b/c the admins know it would be a slippery slope.

Yes. The admins are very receptive when it comes to name change requests but they are very busy now. I can tell you from experience that you will not hear anything back for at least 2 years but there is a good chance they will respond to you at some point.

So are you saying because I called the staff a pack of inconsiderate bastards in my email that they decided not to grant my name change request? Perhaps you are correct. Do you think it is too late to come back with some sugar now in a follow up email? I thought the formula for success was a heavy does of vinegar followed by some sugar. Maybe I have that wrong.
