like the locked team boards, can we get a left wing poli board?

If anyone in that places knows you lean left they jump on you and try to shift every point into some socialist manifesto.
A lot of people interested in politics are marginalized by the circle jerk that currently exists.

Would be awesome and I think it's a great idea.
However, it would probably drive the right wing nut jobs crazy if they couldn't relentlessly flame the left wing people like they get away with on the Poli board.

Because there definitely aren't liberal posters that constantly troll and flame the board.

There is a 100:1 ratio on there, and we aren't talking flaming, most posters there jump on any Democrat to the point that they just move on. If you aren't conservative or a faux libertarian then no matter what you say people are going to pile on you.

Second time was because I posted a link about something Rick Santorum said and he whacked it 3 or 4 times. I asked him why in a thread. He banned me and sent me a message for "calling him out."
Other times were similar, trivial shite. Meanwhile, posters with more than 20k posts break every rule but porn-posting and remain. Take a screenshot of this post. I'll probably get banned for it.

Yeah, but even if a liberal poster makes a thread that has little to do with being liberal, then its still a gang bang. It would be if everytime an Ole Miss fan made a thread on the SEC Rant that it would be non-stop harrassment, no matter what the subject may be. Toddy can't make a thread over there without at least one person insulting him within 10 posts of being gay. The hypocrisy in the board is astounding.

I think what winds up happening most times is that you have a large number of asshats that can't disagree with a differing opinion without resulting to insults, so the decent conversation gets derailed when the first insults are thrown out.
I've had really great conversations with center / left people there before. You could have great discussions, just have to weed out the troublemakers. It would be really nice if you could control the threads you create (blocking posters from them, deleting posts, etc). I know that would kill traffic, but it would certainly improve discourse.

The poliboard now is worse than I've ever seen it. Hopefully after elections, some of the morons will clear out. It may be a safe bet that a sizable portion of the poliboard now have an average IQ well below 90.

CFBR, you do try to have good discussions and I appreciate that.
You know, I do occasionally spout off wise arse remarks or post something that is a little provocative, but that's primarily because of the overwhelming sentiment and constant drumbeat on the board. But there are some conservative posters I truly respect and with whom I would love to have more reasoned discussions.

If you would be interested, I'm going to start utilizing my blog again on the Poli-board. I've been looking for a specific way to structure it so that it was most beneficial to fostering discussion. How about a point / counterpoint angle? You and I pick a topic, set a word limit, and submit it to the board where the initial arguments are made cohesively and at once? I would never edit what you wrote and we could work together to change as necessary.
You have been an excellent contributor to the board, I think it could be a good little thing to do, even if only for a brief time.
