our office is getting rid of phones in favor of MS Teams. You can make/receive calls directly from your desktop. Teams chat function is being pushed heavily as well.

Will soon universally be accepted as the TD way of saying something is screwed up and needs to go back to what it used to be.

Our office is doing the same thing at the end of January.
What is the move to this about? I'm not up to date on new tech. It seems to be a push several companies are making.

We have been this way for several months now. Love not having a big phone on my desk, but can be a pain in the arse at times.

We got rid of phones and switched to Teams calls prior to the start of the pandemic WFH in March of 2020.
Co-workers/clients can call me on Teams or my cell. I never even used my desk phone when I had one.

We transitioned to MS Teams last year. It is complete garbage.
I don't even try using my office/computer phone anymore.
Either email or my work cell.
