My hiit gym is doing a weight loss challenge($50 buyin and $500 first prize) starting 9/14 and going till 10/31.

I won the last one they did in february. I am 43yo, 6'0" and was 200 lbs. I lost 17lbs in 4 weeks.

Now I am at 175lbs, and have been adding more reps and weights to my workouts. So I am not sure if I can lose the same percentage of weight because a requirement is also to do 4 workouts a week.

Is there a way to do this, or should I take it easy tthis time.

I mean u can always lose a little and improve yourself. But you will not be winning the challenge this time, if it is done by weight only.

You weigh 175lbs, do you want to win?

This all depends on the field of competition. 175lbs at 6'0" seems pretty damn skinny already.

Yeah. Just eat a shite ton of carbs and salt leading up to the initial weigh in. You could easily add 10-15 pounds of glycogen, water and colon mass. You'll lose that weight easily in the next two weeks.

Yep. An old employer of mine did one of these and most everyone joined in. I gained 12 lbs in a week prior to the first weigh in, then lost about 25 lbs in a month to win the thing. Just quit running and working out, and ate fatty carb loaded food all week. And drank plenty of beer and booze. Started the running back and only drank water while eating healthy and it was easy money.

At 175, you have no chance, nor should you want to try. To hit 17% again would mean that you need to get down to 145 lbs. Let some fatty win, as they will see the greatest benefit from their time put in.

Not if 50 bucks changes your lifestyle. Otherwise, it’s in good fun.
