I am part of an 8 week contest that ends today. We got a body scan 8 weeks ago and the final is today.

If my group wins I get a bunch of free perks from my gym. Is it worth it for me to fast and not drink water today, or will that not make a difference on the body scan?

At my 4 week check in scan I had only lost 1.5 lbs, but my muscle mass went up 3 lbs

Yea just fast. Not much you can do today but I would stick to water until the weigh in.

Go wrap yourself in black garbage bags and start running. Just make sure you don't pass out from dehydration.

Also, another dangerous idea, take a bunch of laxatives.

Final idea . . . maybe ask these questions 8 weeks ago.

My question is how to lose weight fast, it's whether it makes a difference in a body scan vs just weighing in. I've done well over the course of the contest, my goal was to gain muscle moreso than to lose weight.

I am fit. I lost 45 lbs in 2018, could stand to lose 10-15 more, but i am in very good health. I have struggled to lose the last few pounds. I was 19% BF at the start of the 8 weeks and down to 18.something at the 4 week check in

No worries about that man. Listen to the people who said fast and I'm sure the coffee will help that too for your weigh in.

As far as the rest goes if you are building muscle you don't really have much left to worry about. Just keep stacking muscle and your bf% will get where you want slowly but surely on it's own

Fast but keep water intake up. It will mess the scan all up if you don't hydrate and show a bunch of muscle loss

How to win weight loss competitions:

-Load up on sodium the day before weigh in. I'm talking downing as much sodium as you can stand - pickles, fast food, etc, be a glutton.
-Lose a moderate amount of weight during the competition
-Take diuretics, sweat a bunch the day before weight in, fast day of weigh-in.

Voila.

Weight loss competitions are stupid.

eta

Didn't notice the scan at first ... that makes things more interesting. Don't dehydrate or you'll have a large amount of LBM loss.
