Today was my first day with one on in the gym as well. If you push yourself cardio-wise, it’s pretty much impossible to wear a mask. I didn’t make it a quarter of a mile on the treadmill before I felt like someone was suffocating me. I had to stop before I passed out. One of the trainers told me I could put it just under my nose. Still was too hard to do that when my HR was in the 160s. Finally put the top of it on my bottom lip and just ran like normal. When I was done, there was a pool of sweat at bottom of my mask.
Tomorrow I’ll be lifting weights, so I’m sure there will be more eyes on me making sure my mask is on. This shite sucks. What other gyms in BR aren’t requiring masks while working out. I won’t be able to take this for too long.

I think the way gyms are handling the mask guidelines is moronic (wear a mask when you enter, but soon as we take your temperature you don’t have to wear it...because apparently asymptomatic transmission isn’t their concern). Having said that, there is something positive to be said, imo, about not being able to breathe so easily from wearing a mask. I can understand for some it may be different. I’m wearing the mask I normally wear when skiing so it’s not really an unusual inconvenience for me.

Anytime Fitness and Southdowns don't require masks.

Stop being a bitch, bro. I was wearing a mask in clinic for 8-9 hours a day going through exercises with patients. You can survive this.

Max Fitness doesn't require masks when working out. Been pretty packed lately too.

Have you tried teaching your patients how to squat or deadlift 500+ lbs. wearing a mask?

PF says that you are supposed to have a mask on at all times but it looks like they aren't really enforcing it. Some people don't have one at all. Some, like me, have it but aren't wearing it to work out. Others are looking like they are about to pass out at all times with the mask on.

The complaints you frickers spit out is never ending. You should be happy your state even reopened gyms.
And no. But many have a history of hypertension and/or various other cardiopulmonary issues or generalized de-conditioning influencing their breathing capabilities.
And yet, they don't bitch like you.

This is really a sad response. Have you seen someone run a sub seven minute mile with a mask on ? If you can't admit that this mask nonsense in a gym is ridiculous there is no use arguing with you about it. And as far as the benevolent government allowing gyms to open and we should be happy, geez

Surgeons wear a mask for 12 hour surgeries.
You will be fine in your air conditioned gym.

Order some cheap spandex gayter things from amazon, got 10 for around 20$ . Mesh is so big you can see through them when you pull it on.
