Walking Question

With the quarantine, I've been walking twice a day to break up the monotony of staring at the computer. 3 miles total with plenty of hills (2 x 1.5 miles). I do this every weekday even on the days I run.
Is there anything else you incorporate into a walk? Weighted vest? Hand weights? Leg weights? Bare foot? Or is simply walking enough?

A Mile an Hour - Running a different kind of marathon
A different kind of marathon; running one lap an hour, for 24hrs, around my perfectly mile long block. The rest of the time I do as much as possible; making things, odd jobs, fixing stuff. It's about running, doing, and thinking.

I hadn't really thought about it, but I could really make those walks into runs if I wanted to.

Not an answer to your question exactly, but a good companion to your walking routine is to avoid sitting as much as possible. It'll help your walking posture and do wonders for overall flexibility.

I think simply walking is good enough. I did an 8 hour move challenge - once an hour for 8 hours, you had to walk 1/2 a mile. It was in an effort to reduce being sedentary.

Weighted vest?
I do this. Usually 20-30 pounds. It does help get an extra cardio and muscular impact.
I've been doing it more while working from home. Instead of a lunch hour, I take a 10 min walk with a weight vest to recharge.

That would really increase your energy level i would think.

I’ll add in walking lunges just to break things up a bit.

Just walk. That should be a staple in your life. Add workouts on top.

Walk with a brick in each hand...beast mode.

I have one decent sized hill that's about 50 yds long and grades about 15-20%. I've been walking it backwards this week. Wow. That is really adding some burn to an otherwise routine walk.
