So I'm trying to get my shite in check as I am 28 and have been overweight on and off my whole life. I'm confident in my nutrition as I've been successful before. Will be doing sub-50 gram low carb for the foreseeable future

Something I've never really done or researched and feel I need to start as I approach my 30's is vitamin supplementation. I've never consistently taken a multivitamin or any supplements other than preworkout which obviously is for performance purposes only

Any recommendations? Open to a greens supplement as well as I know I won't be getting enough of those even with eating better (I will be eating mostly meat, some avocados and salads thrown in)

I've looked into these LINK and LINK

open to any and all recs. Zinc, vitamins A,B,C,D,E,F,Z/whatever

Multi vitamins are mostly nonessential if you are eating right unless you have some sort of deficiency.

They aren't going to hurt you either, but it's generally a waste of money.

Vitamin D will almost always be good.

Other than that if you are doing low carb whey protein supplementation.

I would only take zinc if I were traveling or exposed or sick. That’s just me.

Get your Vitamin D levels check, supplement if needed. I think this is a general rule for most vitamins and supplements, you should take what your deficient in, or to correct an issue. I take magnesium citrate to prevent constipation and melatonin to improve my sleep. However, if these aren’t issues for you there is no reason for you to take them.

The only exception I have is K2 simply because it’s difficult to get it through diet. We don’t eat fermented foods or organ meat as much as we have historically. It’s cheap and it doesn’t have any real downsides from all the data I have seen. It is supposedly good at preventing hardening of blood vessels by improving your ability to move calcium from blood to your bones. These are issues that take a lifetime to show up and aren’t easily corrected when they do, so I believe it’s worth the gamble (It might not do anything and I’m out some money).

Yeah, Vitamin D is the most important because with our current lifestyles, we’re almost all deficient. And it’s so good for you for several things, mainly immunity. To the poster above me, I agree on K2, and take a D3 K2 daily combo (Divine Bounty). My levels have gone up significantly since I started taking this daily a few years ago.

It is fat soluble, though, so take it with a meal or snack that has some fat. No telling how much I pissed out before I figured this out.

Is low carb what you did before? It can work, but it might also not be sustainable for you. Other methods of dieting can also work just fine, so I might look for something you can adhere to long term/forever.

vitamin supplementation

I'd focus more on the diet and getting activity levels up.

Looks like Mr. Boyles was triggered by a post tunechi did in Mr. Boyles topic on the OT.

Tunechi, hope you made some gainz this year. If not, today is a good day to start.

my baw

I have not. But I'm finally on the right track. Saw all the posts about ozempic/wegovy and thought to myself, I have no reason to not sack up and do it myself. New wife and I got moved into the house and am finally able to meal prep/exercise regularly.
