A third party seems to confirm CBP's stance:

Agency will detain imports of bicycles, bicycle parts, and accessories manufactured using forced labor
WASHINGTON — U.S. Customs and Border Protection issued a Withhold Release Order against bicycles, bicycle parts, and accessories manufactured in Taiwan by Giant Manufacturing Co. Ltd, based on information that reasonably indicates forced labor use.
Effective immediately, CBP will detain bicycles, bicycle parts, and accessories manufactured in Taiwan by Giant. This WRO, the third issued in 2025 and the fourth in Fiscal Year 2025, was issued due to violations of 19 U.S.C. § 1307, the law prohibiting goods made with forced labor from entering the U.S.
“CBP has a proven track record of cracking down on companies that use forced labor to the detriment of law-abiding U.S. businesses,” said CBP Commissioner Rodney S. Scott.
A third party seems to confirm CBP's stance:

In February, Le Monde Diplomatique published an investigative report that cited foreign guest workers at Taiwanese bike factories, including Giant, who said they had paid recruiters in their home countries fees of as much as $5,500 to secure work at the factories. Some workers also said that once in Taiwan they had to pay service fees to Taiwanese brokers that amounted to two months’ wages during their three-year contracts. The news source also found similar fees being paid by workers at Merida, Maxxis, Fritz Jou and other Taiwanese factories. It said Giant committed last year to paying the fees on behalf of the foreign workers.

Giant also makes frames for a bunch of other brands from what I understand. Quick search:
Yes, Giant Bicycles has historically been and continues to be a major Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for other well-known bicycle brands, making frames and entire bikes for companies like Trek, Specialized, and Scott. While Giant also sells its own branded bikes, its role as a contract manufacturer for other brands is a core part of its business strategy, leveraging its significant production capacity and expertise in bicycle manufacturing.

Luckily I have a Canyon, so I'm used to bad customer service and long wait times already

I guess the workers thought this was a good deal. Thankfully, busy bodies have removed their means of employment for their own good.

I almost bought a Canyon Aeroad a few months ago when they were on sale, but ultimately went with this beauty a few weeks ago. Coming from a Specialized Tarmac.
Almost this exact bike.

I read that Giant was contracted to make some frames for Specialized and Trek. I wonder which ones.

Lower tier models most likely. They’re not outsourcing the good shite because they would have to give away the build specs.

I was figuring any S-Works and Project One were for sure built in-house by Specialized and Trek. But I wonder if the lower tier models built with the last generation carbon layup (Fact 10R Tarmac SL8 for instance) were built by Giant. Maybe the Tarmac SL7's being built now are the ones built by Giant. Or it could be just the aluminum frame models. Who knows.

Trek has used Giant frames for years.

i can't see them outsourcing their elite frames. I'm also a bit biased because i want to think my S Works SL8 isn't made by someone else lol. I was thinking it's probably the older models or aluminum frames too.

I hope my SL8 Pro is made in house.

It's the blue colorway on mine, not the white. I'm trying not to put too much out there. And no, I didn't buy the frameset, it's the full bike. It was used through buycycle. The specs are nothing fancy, dura ace di2, 60mm dt swiss.
The one thing I never heard because my broke arse has never had a good bike, is the hub sounds. Holy shite, it's like a 1000 angry hornets.
It's the most expensive thing I own, so it's babied.

Check those DT Swiss for recall. No bueno if they delaminate.
