I didn’t think the GP 5000 AS TR’s went up to 35mm. I have (had) 32’s on my road bike and thought that’s as big as they went. I had to replace a leaking front on Sunday morning and went with 30. I will say that I took the 32’s up a short hilly gravel section a couple weeks ago and they were slipping and sliding so much that I got off and walked up a hill.

I’ve looked at the Terra Speeds. They seem to cover the spectrum. I’ll have to look at how they rate on BRR.

I’m trying to find another set of wheels right now so I can have at least 2 set ups for my gravel bike. I got a steal of a deal on the Bontrager 3V’s. I’d be happy to find another set of those.

They do. I have a set on my 2nd gravel wheels. The ASTR compound is more grippy than the regular GP, but it is still a road tire.

I run 45mm terra speeds on my other set. Been running them for years. They see a good bit of pavement between gravel spots and they are fast. BRR has had them near the top of their list since they came out. The 35mm will roll as fast as some road tires

I misread it. I have S TR’s.

How are the Terra Speeds on wet gravel and mud?

the knobs are small and spaced far enough apart where they shed mud pretty good, but they are small knobs. it is in no way a mud tire. does fine in wet. Conti black chili compound is hard to beat.

Back on a steel single speed like God intended. Traded someone my Spot Mayhem 130 frame for their chrome plated Canfield Nimble 9 frame.

Made a new logo for a new group I'm forming called the Alabama Single Speeders...

Watch out posting pictures of your bike... something crazy might happen to you as a result, evidently.

That’s a lot of beef up front for a hard tail. I’m rocking a 120mm Sid on my Ti SS.

It's a shame that idiots like you, who think they know everything, ruin boards like this with your bullshite. You don't believe me, fine, move the frick on. Your issue is that you have to be right, like a petulant child. So you shite on people for no reason other than, "nah uh, you don't share photo so it's not real! "

Grow the frick up.

In all fairness, I’m pretty sure Oates is prolific in the running thread. I used to hang there more but got into cycling in the past year. So he’s not some slouch and I wouldn’t expect he’d be trolling the H/F board.

Hell, I jumped from a Raleigh to a 2015 Felt to a 2023 Tarmac SL8 in about 4 months in 2024. So going from zero to hero is not unpossible.

The was one of my favorite board sections because it has a lot of good info. Even dudes like Mingo was ok here.

And yeah, why the hell would I lie about a bike? It's not new, I get it's kinda rare, but it's not like I said I bought it from Tadej.

Hell, a brand new Tarmac SL8 Pro costs more than my used bike, so wtf?

Attack my reasons, that's fine, but spend some time arguing on the political board, yall will get it.

And FWIW, gmrkr5 has a lot of damn good info, especially in this thread. No idea why he has to be a continued dick. Can we just move on?

You said a bunch of goofy shite and claimed to have a very new/rare/expensive bike currently ridden by the top cyclist in the world.. but no one can see a picture because you post on the political board and i guess some one is gonna get you…? I’ve got a lot more $ than that colnago you supposedly own tied up in bikes so i can promise you it isnt about that.

Enjoy your bike bro. I wish we’d get to see a picture of it with the aerobars (you gotta be kidding me) but that obviously isnt going to happen

Oh look, I get that and even said my own cyclists friends are giving me shite for it. I know my legs can never do it justice, i will never put it the watts it deserves. Hell, i know I'm crazy for buying it.

But it's still a used bike, I never once claimed it was new. It's depreciated by 40% already and cheaper than a bunch of other new bikes.

I never said anything about jealousy, I'm genuinely happy for you. It's a great feeling to have nice stuff. I was a broke arse that now has money to sometimes buy myself more expensive toys, and I do it occasionally. I thought you guys who love bikes like i do would appreciate it.

You just gotta cut again, huh? The aero bars are because I'm not buying a damn TT bike, I'm broke now, what part of that didn't you get?

there is no way on the planet to mount aerobars on that bike and its incredibly proprietary cockpit, and if you actually owned one you wouldn’t even say something silly like i’m going to out aerobars on it.

Like i said, enjoy your bike bro

Everyone I know was shocked when I bought my SL8. Especially since I was only about 4-5 months into really cycling.

But like you, I found it at a steep discount on Buycycle.

And I still don’t do it justice.

Well, you are free to call me stupid for not knowing that, that's fine. I had no idea that you can't put clip on aero bars on this bike. I had only recently thought about it, and like I mentioned, was gonna reach out to Colnago directly for options. Hell, even Pinarello Dogma F integrated cockpit can take aero bar clips.

Yeah, that's kinda my story. Maybe I should have seen a therapist first.

When i first found the site, I thought it was a scam. But it's a crazy site for ridiculous deals on high end bikes.

And I never will either. My wattage output is embarrassing.
