I still haven’t taken a live class. I’m a night time rider and there is rarely one happening past lunch time.

I've done a few on Saturdays, and one on my birthday recently, but that's it. No birthday shoutout. All about the sessions at night.

Found a guy on FB market place that is selling an original pelaton bike with all the hardware for $1,000. Barely used. Comes with the big screen. Should I jump on this? Wife and I are sick of the treadmill.

Just get a bike from costco for $400. I got one and my sister has a peloton. They perform about the same. Just use the peloton app to get classes and take an educated guess on relative resistance.

Can save the other $600 and get some weights and a rower

Apparently I hit 2k minutes this year the other day. Saw the badge and didn’t realize it had been that much. Those 20/30/45 minute rides add up.

Hit my 100th ride yesterday. And the wife finally got back on the bike. All I heard last fall was she needed to go for walks and exercise more. So I bought us the bike at Christmas. She was all in. For about 2 weeks. Kept making excuses after that but after seeing a few months of my results she’s finally come around to the fact that being thin/skinny comes from eating right but being in shape, she’s going to have to do something else. Honestly didn’t think it would take her this long to get on board since she used to go to the gym and run a good bit.

Glad I found this thread:

I got my bike in February of this year.

First ride was February 21st. Im 6'1" and I was weighing almost 270.

58 rides later, most of which were 30 minutes, and a little cleaner diet (nothing crazy), Im down to 233 as of this morning

The bike has been absolutely life changing

Awesome man!

Just started the power zone series to try and mix it up. In week 2 of 4 and I like the zones so far.

Got an echelon in december. Did scenic rides for first two months then started classes arms / intervals and core / intervals. lost 10 lbs(wasn't too chunky before) but I'm in better shape now than I have been in decades.

Any big differences in the bike and the bike+ other than the screen size and extra speakers?

The resistance adjusts automatically to the called ranges, at least in the replays of the class after they add those in. I’m not sure if it does in live classes. Other than that I’m not sure. I bought a swivel for my screen.

I’m enjoying the power zone program. It is the beginner/discover power zones program. Finished the third week a few days ago. Taking the first class in week 4 tonight. More a slow and steady type of class than the intervals or climbs. I still jump in a normal class about once a week but I’m interested in two weeks to see how much progress I’ve made.

Thanks. How tough is it to manually adjust the resistance?

Just turning a knob. After a while you kind of get used to how much you are adding. Like if an instructor calls out increase your resistance 2-5 pts I know about what adding 5 feels like on the fly.

Ended up buying the bike+ for $2100. Figured if I was going to spend $1500 for the bike I should spring for the bike+.

FYI peloton offers $200 worth of gear for military/first responders when you buy a bike

Just got a bike. Did 2 rides so far. Any reason why I shouldn't do all Kendall Toole's classes from now on?

I've found myself riding with subtitles on more recently, as I'm growing increasingly annoying by the instructors

I did Kendall's Fathers Day ride yesterday and had to turn her off. I'm just not a "rah rah" person.

Headphones with my music and subtitles is my solution these days.

Jumping in here…wife ordered one last month and loves it so far. I ordered some Fizik shoes and cleats on super sale from Amazon and decided to give it a go last weekend. Solid workout for sure. Think I’m going to work in some peloton for cardio in lieu of running due to this excessive heat.

Looking at ordering some padded shorts, any recommendations? Nothing fancy, just budget friendly and will hold up relatively well.

Make sure you are sitting correctly on the back of the seat and after a few rides you won’t have any pain there. I ride just about everyday now and haven’t been sore since the first week I got my peloton.

Hermit is right

the first couple of rides my arse was sore as hell, but now I don't even feel the seat, even when I do 1 hour rides
