Any experience with this stuff? Opinions? Seemed to get good reviews on the keto Reddit.
I’ve looked at it before, but there are just too many “keto” things out there. I can’t seperate the good from bad. I saw keto meal bars with 17g carbs and 9 fiber. That’s still 8g carbs which is 1/2 of my daily limit!
The only replacement I use is Atkins shakes which have 1 or 2 net carbs. That’s usually my mid morning breakfast. Everything else is Whole Foods. I’m eating a ton of casseroles lately. I make 2 or 3 on Sunday and eat them all week. I make 1 or 2 dinners during the week to patch it in. 1 weekend night is steak and veg. That day I am usually off my macros, but still under on carbs.

Each packet of Ketochow has 0.6 net carbs. I don't plan on replacing real food completely, but it's nice to mix up a batch of this keto chow stuff and know automatically the exact macros of it and hit all of my nutritional goals.
I use heavy whipping cream as my fat btw. :

3 weeks and 1 day(22 days) into Keto and I'm down 38 pounds. I stalled after 2 weeks and it pissed me off so I cracked down even harder...lettuce and 2 pieces of sliced chicken breast a day for me with 2 tablespoons of 0 carb dressing.

Unless you were 400 lbs this sounds like a great way to damage your metabolism and have to reverse diet for 6 months to fix it

Yeah not going to lie, I got up there

How does it taste?

Been on the diet for 2.5 weeks and down 12 lbs. I'm sure this has been addressed in here, but do any of you use blood test kits to test ketones? I am admittedly very new to this, and a person in my office let me test my blood using his device. I registered very high (Out of the recommended range online) for ketone levels. Is this something to worry about? Basically, can you go overboard on cutting your carb intake?

Don’t chase ketones. If you want to test the best device is Keto mojo.

If you are diabetic yes you can go overhlboard and go into ketoacidosis. If you don’t have diabetes don’t worry about ketones. Keep your protein less than 30% and your carbs less than 20g net daily and you’ll be in Ketosis. Don’t worry about the fact you have a 0.6 vs a 4.0.

Alright, not a diabetic so that's good to know. I registered 5.8

Also your ketones will be much higher if way you are 300lbs and losing weight rapidly vs someone who’s already lean and doing maintenance.

Gotcha. I'm 5'8 and weighed in at 153 this morning, so pretty average. I'll just keep on keeping on. Thanks for the responses.

Hey, I've only got 90lbs on ya

Issue I'm having is taking in enough calories. Meeting macros goal, haven't had a cheat day in approx 18 days. I'm super full at the end of the day so its not like I'm starving myself. Probably averaging about 1500 cals/day. Now I am a not a big guy, 5'9 140ish.

I’m the same way. Don’t worry about calories. If you are in a deficit, you are going to lose weight.
Posted on 2/20/19 at 2:09 pm to CoachChappy
When I get to my body to where I am happy, the maintenance phase is going to be harder than the calorie deficit phase. I guess in a way that is a good problem to have.
Posted on 2/20/19 at 4:23 pm to FWGolfer
That’s the way I look at it. However, at maintenance phase, I’m going to get closer to 40-50g carbs per day. So there will be more calories due to the carbs. Also, I’m a long way from having that problem
Posted on 2/20/19 at 4:34 pm to CoachChappy
I didn't even think about increasing carbs to help maintain.. That makes it much easier to increase cals. I started keto Jan 10 and honestly don't miss carbs. I like the meals I eat and plan ahead so I'm not tempted to get an easy meal somewhere that probably has carbs. I have not eaten at a restaurant since Jan 26.

I started 1/7 and I miss certain things. I used to eat a sandwich for lunch. It just made life easy. Meal planning/prepping has helped that. We make 2 casseroles a week and eat in them.
Restaurant eating is easy when you know what and how to order.
Atkins has their maintenance phase. I’m going to use that. If I feel I start gaining or have a beer filled weekend. I’ll lockdown for a few weeks.

I quit beer. And I love beer. Now I drink Tito's and water. I like the way it makes me feel, but miss the taste. My crew meets at least 4 days a week for happy hour. Realized I drink less with the vodka. I do miss a beer in a iced over mug though.
