Running Stadiums in Baton Rouge
Posted by TeddyPadillac

Is there someplace I can freely go to and run stadiums in BR? i've gone by Olympia before but it's locked up. Pretty sure i can't stroll over to LSU and do them.
Any suggestions from people that actually have run stadiums recently in the area?

By the bottom of this page you should have a free place to go.

Not necessary stadiums, but you can do hill sprints on the levee near LSU. Or some parks like highland rd park have some hills.
As far as stadiums go.. I know my high school always left the track and stadium open during the week but I’m not sure about other schools in BR.

We used to go to the track field at LSU. They didn’t lock it and we’d run the bleachers. The other spot was the YMCA downtown. It’s 5 stories I think and we’d (buddy and I) run the staircase until we couldn’t walk.
That’s all I got.

when was this, 20 years ago? I can't imagine they'd leave it open for the general public to go do that today.
and i don't want to run up and down levee. I need something that last much longer.
really the best thing is just a step climber at a gym, but i'd much rather do something outside.
i got a rude awakening last fall hunting elk, climbing mountains and i need to get my legs in much better shape, which is difficult to train for in flat LA. Wasn't my first hiking or hunting trip, but it was the first time i really traversed up steep mountainsides and along steep ridges, and it was much more strenuous than just hiking a path.

I like to run the stairs on the back side of the PMAC.
