Running and Strength Training

I'm really excited there is a fitness board now. I've been running for a dozen years. The last couple of years I've been doing weights with StrongLifts and Starting strength type lifting. I enjoy running the most but I've come to really enjoy being strong as well. I know I lot of folks say it is one or the other. Do any of y'all pursue both endurance and strength and how do you go about it?

Run in the am and lift in the pm.

I have typically done one or the other. I just don't have the time to commit to logging a lot of miles while hitting the weights hard.
If I combine both its more of running as part of a conditioning type workout and not trying to log a lot of miles.

I get my cardio (sometimes running distance) in the morning around 5:45am and then lift in the afternoon around 4:45pm during the week. I'm really more focused on dropping body fat at the moment than I am getting stronger. On the weekend I try to get one day of long distance (only 3-4 miles at the moment) and let everything else recover. This is really the first time I've done both at the same time in years so I'm interested to see how it works out.

I usually just run now to exercise. On days when I don't I use a curl bar at home and do arms (usually just twice a week).
I have a few friends who have gotten into Cross Fit and they really like it. I haven't given Cross Fit a lot of thought though.
the way my work schedule is now its already challenging enough to either run before work (VERY early in the morning) or wait until the early evening after I get back home. Plus my job can be physically demanding (especially in the summer).
just did a race last Saturday and logged a 32 minute time in a 5K

It's called crossfit
I've got four kids and one income. I find crossfit way too expensive.

I run maybe 10-12 miles a week and do the rest of my cardio with condition work outs after I do my strength training.

It can be done. I don't do it, because I loathe running.

Local box is $175 for a couple. It's also hard for me to go to set times with a crazy family life. I've built a power rack and have to go at it garage gym style because of money and schedule.
