I like the way they taste, but the protein is "milk protein concentrate" which is a slower digestible protein if I understand that right. So some of it may not be utilized within the window that you're needing it.

I will not claim to be an expert, but out of the powders I have tried,(gatorade, muscle milk, body fortress, and premier protein) it is my favorite.

They are ok.

Fairlife protein shakes are actually enjoyable.

Premier is one of the better tasting protein drinks. I normally keep a few in the fridge at home and work.

1st Phorm or Transparent Labs (Grass fed) is my favorite. Premier is a cheap source of protein.

Not only Core Power but also the Fairlife nutrition plan protein drinks. Both are excellent in taste, particularly the chocolate and vanilla flavors - personally not a big fan of Salted Caramel and Strawberry-Banana flavors which Costco carries from time to time.

You can often get the Fairlife at Costco at excellent pricing, but availability is not consistent at least in BR. They always carry large volumes of the Premier.

Yeah, I only ever see the Core Power ones. No Costco in my neck of the woods until the one in Covington is built

I just checked their website. Not sure to which you are referring, but the chocolate protein shake has these ingredients:

quote:

Water, Milk Protein Concentrate†, Calcium Caseinate†, Cocoa Powder (processed with alkali), Contains less than 1% of High Oleic Sunflower Oil or Soybean Oil, Natural and Artificial flavors, Inulin, Cellulose Gel and Cellulose Gum, Salt, Sucralose, Acesulfame Potassium, Carrageenan, Tripotassium Phosphate, Dipotassium Phosphate, Sodium Hexametaphosphate, Vitamin and Mineral Blend (Dl-alpha-tocopheryl Acetate [Vitamin E], Zinc Glycinate Chelate, Ferric Orthophosphate, Vitamin A Palmitate, Niacinamide, Phytonadione [Vitamin K1], Potassium Iodide, Cholecalciferol [Vitamin D3], Copper Gluconate, Calcium D-Pantothenate, Manganese Sulfate, Sodium Selenite, Biotin, Sodium Molybdate, Folic Acid, Thiamine Mononitrate [Vitamin B1], Cyanocobalamin [Vitamin B12], Pyridoxine Hydrochloride [Vitamin B6], Riboflavin [Vitamin B2], Chromium Polynicotinate), Magnesium Phosphate, Sodium Ascorbate.

I just don't see the reason to do this to one's body. Seed oils in a protein shake?

The aforementioned Fairlife looks cleaner:

quote:

REDUCED FAT ULTRA-FILTERED MILK, SUGAR, LESS THAN 1% OFALKALIZED COCOA, NATURAL FLAVOR, LACTASE ENZYME, ACESULFAME POTASSIUM, CARRAGEENAN, SUCRALOSE, VITAMIN A PALMITATE, VITAMIN D3

IMO, you should be getting your protein via food. But if it has to be some kind of shake, then I don't understand why not just get the stuff I keep on hand: powdered grass fed bone broth protein.

Here's the ingredient list:

All the bolded are not good for you and shouldn't be in any health related product. All people care about is if it 'tastes good'. They don't care about all the artificial shite in it that is terrible for you. I certainly wouldn't touch sucralose after the latest study that just came out.
