Protein Consumption Question

I have seen conflicting information on how much protein your body can digest in one meal. I have seen everything from "as much as you can consume" to "roughly 30 grams per meal". Anyone have any insights into this?
Thanks
Thanks

I don't know the answer but 30 grams a meal would seem to leave you light on the protein for the day.

Better rule is per bodyweight. .75 to 1 g per pound of bodyweight is most researched for muscle building.

I’m not going to go digging for an exact study, but I think that whole 30g/meal think is bunked science at this point. Like Rep said, somewhere between .75-1g/lb is the generally recommended intake.

I eat between 200 and 225 grams of protein daily. Not dead yet.

Your body adjust and slows the digestion. The 30g comes into play as that maximizes muscle protein synthesis. As of now there are studies showing benefits upto 3g per kg and very well could go higher.
There are zero issues with eating a high protein diet, 400g or so, in healthy individuals. No research on higher consumption has been done from what I have seen.

I see no reason why your body wouldn’t just process out what it doesn’t need. You absorb the protein needed and defecate the excess. That reminds me, I’m cooking a sirloin tomorrow.

Eat between 260-280 and still cutting fat
Prolly get 40-50 per over the course of 6 smaller meals

1g per lb of body weight, daily. grams per meal is not important, your body has evolved over upteen thousands of years to be very adaptable. give it nutrients - it will find a way to hold on to them.
