Yeah, that's not true at all. There are a couple out there about whom articles have been written, which might make you think a lot are doing it. However, the overwhelming majority of successful trail and extreme distance runners are eating carbs for sure.

the articles make it seem like its a lot of them. could very well be worng as its not my realm, running is miserable to me.

I can't agree with this. Fruits and veggies are good for you.

fruits..well your body sees it as sugar. No difference between them and a chocalate bar as far as the body sees it. Only difference is one has a lot more vitamins.

as far as veggies, 100% agree with green leafy veggies and said that. Im talking processed carbs and startchy carbs are not good for your overall health.

Yea, I know what you are talking about. I think it was more of just a talking point. Way more plant based endurance guys than anything without carbs.

One also has a lot more fiber therefore causing the breakdown and processing to be different. The way people compare fruit to pure sugar and "chocolate bars" is way off. The fruit is different (depending on what type of fruit eaten) in that it isn't purely sugar like people make it out to be. Does it contain sugar, yes. But there is a lot more to fruit than just that.

I understood where you were coming from though. I agree with most of your assessments. Definitely don't think you are a "bro science" guy

If you are only eating protein and starving your body of carbs then you're fricking yourself up. Maybe you look great but your internal regulation is probably in the gutter and you'll pay for it one day.
Nah. Your body has ZERO requirement for ingested carbs.

Finally, this notion that carbs are terrible for you needs to end. Too many carbs? Of course. ... But carbs are absolutely fine for recovery. Just don't eat cakes and cookies all day.
Wait - before you said carb restriction would "frick you up" internally. Now it's just that they're "fine"?

Nope.

Fruits - not really. Veggies - not as much as you might think.

Yes, SOME fruit has nutrients that are usable. That doesn't mean delivering them in the form of a sugar bomb is good. With both fruit and chocolate, your body still perceives/reacts metabolically to the sugar.

Care to share something showing this. A whole foods plant based diet is highly regarded as one that is best in the prevention and reversing of heart disease

My diet is not fully plant based. But plants do take up a large portion of it.

You may not like it. Doesn't mean I don't enjoy it

Haha, like I have said before, nutrient timing is minuscule in the grand scheme of things.

I agree. We are carnivores, mother fricking predators. We were put on this earth to eat meat and I refuse to go against gods will.

I still eat meat. Just not as much as I used too. I also get my carbs from mostly plant sources.

To each their own though

Disagree. A piece of candy has mostly sugar and little to no micro-nutrition. A piece of fruit has mostly sugar, some fiber to make it seem (metabolically) as if there is slightly less sugar, and some micro-nutrition. That's it. There's nothing magic. Hence my remark - I don't think it's clear that it's worth it to get that bit of micro-nutrition from a sugar bomb. You can get it from a source not loaded with sugar.
