Anytime Fitness on Government? They have trainers

There are thousands of trainers, videos, programs, both diet and weight routine etc online.
I don’t see why people waste their money with a trainer with the loads of free stuff online. Save your money from a trainer and put it towards at home equipment/ healthy food buying etc
70-80% of “losing weight” is diet and nutrition. Start there

I appreciate all the helpful suggestions. However, this isn't for me. Trying to help somebody else.

Is it for programming? Or for accountability/motivation?
Are they trying to compete in some strength sport? Or just get in shape?

What’s not for you? The actual looking stuff up or you just need someone there to motivate you to workout?
I’m not trying to be an arse, I’m just saying there are millions of online programs and weekly routines and diet plans for free

That's all true. What's also true is that some people are just more comfortable with a person. Doing personal training is where many learn these things (learn a thing by doing or teaching it).
And for every good piece of advice are 12 bad ones. Trainer is a quicker and easier way for a beginner to wade through the BS and get a second pair of dedicated eyes to boot.

In my experience 99% of trainers are fricking tards. The good ones are quite expensive

The people at spectrum southdowns all seem smart and with a lot of experience. Tara and Jill are very popular though mainly for women, Joe works with a lot of guys

Joe from Spectrum on Southdowns. He’s the best

I own a gym within about 7min of LSU called, The Block. My name is Walker Higgins. Happy to see if we would be a good fit for your friend.

To say he is in shape is an understatement!
