Starting The Prequel today. Got to get ready for Squatober.

Completed Arm farm last week. Really enjoyed the program.
Here's my notes and comments
Every Day of the week has the same exercises throughout the program. So Week 1 Monday will be same as week 4 Monday in regards to exercises but the rep structure and percentages change dramatically.
Bench every M & Th
Squat Tues
DL Friday
All exercises are super-setted with something else. It's almost like doing a HIIT workout. Heart rate explodes up and then rest and repeat.
Major lifts start each day
Structure of each work out is Major lift with SS then a Secondary major lift with SS then you get to Farm Flex section.
Farm Flex is 3 complementary exercises SS. This is just total and complete destruction. You finish this section completely done.
Cardio Section is then two exercises that complement something that was done earlier SS together.
Parting shots - If you want traditional three big lifts with rest time then this is not your workout. While it has the big 3 lifts, to me if you want more of a HIIT feel then this is it. It's hard, you need to watch your ego on the weights you use because the reps are really high in the Farm Flex.
Deloading this week and redoing it for September

I was worried about the 10 sets of bench for nothing. That was my favorite part, felt great. I should have spend more time worrying about that cardio section. I started way too heavy on my first overhead carry and was pretty much already spent after the first rotation.

awesome review brother. I will be hiting up arm farm in novermber. cant wait
i do agree those supersets, if you stick strictly to the rest times, your heart will be pumping like crazy. My resting heart rate has went way down since i started ppsa, blood pressure too.

good to know. I will say i am sore as frick. I dunno if its from hitting w2d4 on saturday morning or from the close to 25k steps i took yesterday. but my whole back and upper body is tight as hell especially my back.
hoping the squats and rdl dont kill me tonight.

Starting week 8 of grasshopper. Funny, weights are feeling lighter than ever despite %s going up.. Back into the swing of things, maybe getting stronger.
Thinking 'filling out the hoodie' next.. dont think ill do any deload time since im feeling so good and strong.

if you are feeling good, keep going.
are you planning to do squatober?

Hadn't thought about it. I get tendonitis flare-ups in my right knee so I'm always wary of high volume squatting. Maybe give it a shot, though.

then i wouldnt. just keep on with the filling out the hoodie and dropping body fat. squatober requires one to really eat to get most out of it.

Murph season was always hell on my knee and right shoulder.

I'm starting week 4 of Silverback tonight. I'm not sure where I go from here, but I'm thinking Arm farm or House of the Rising Buns.

I’ve got a 7 day trip planned around thanksgiving. Any suggestions on what to do? I won’t be able to finish a full program
Posted on 8/30/22 at 8:09 am to bamaguy17
pick one of the programs that are just a number of workouts like oak tree, or just pick a program you like and just do part of it and repeat after you get back.

opposite ends of the spectrum on those.
1) are you doing squatober? if so do prequel
2) if not, what is your goal?

Good idea or bad idea to do Pregame right into Squatober without a deload week?

I'm not doing Squatober, but only because I'm competing in IBJJF Pans in mid-October, and I'm not sure how it will line up with my training for BJJ. I'm worried my legs will be gassed for competition. Having done Pool Season I and II and now Silverback, I've gotten a lot stronger and thicker but I'm unsure which direction I want to go when Silverback ends.
