Has anyone given the latest 1000 REP routine(on instagram) a try? I attempted this morning but ran out of time at around the 700 rep mark or so. I'm sore as shite.

I agree. Pool Season kicks my arse every day.

I love pool season. I'm on 2-2 today.
Does Pool Season 2 differ much from the 1st one for anyone that's done it?

I'm ready to give PPSA a try. I've been an Athlean-x advocate for a long time. However, it's seems Jeff's programs are great for leaning out but not all that great for putting on mass.
Reading this thread has been enough to spark my interest in PPSA. Does anyone one have personal recommendations in regards to which program to use? My home gym is complete to the point that I shouldn't have to make modifications to exercises. Additionally, I feel like one hour should be the max time per workout. My ultimate goal is to add mass. Thanks to all in advance.

how many days a week?
if 4 days I suggest pool season 1 & 2 and filling out the hoodie 1 & 2, jacked and stacked and arm farm if looking for mass in the upper body
but any of the plans are going to be great for adding mass and strength. What is your over all goal?

4 days a week would be the plan. Pool season sounded like a top choice for me based on previous posts in the thread.
As previously stated, Athlean has never been great for mass. Lower body mass typically comes easy for me. Upper body mass gains are the end game this time around.
I don't mind getting my arse kicked by a workout, I look forward to it.

You will be hustling to get the workouts done in a hour. Just cut down rest times

pool season or filling out the hoodie but gonna be tough to do in an hour
Posted on 5/11/22 at 8:49 am to lsu777
How long then? I'll sacrifice time for serious gains.

1.5+ hours. The rest times are usually 2.5-3 mins. I cut them down to 1.5ish and it takes me around an hour 15 mins to complete a pool season workout.

I was able to get Pool Season 1 workouts done in 50-65 min but it involves shorter rest times and doing supersets that aren’t necessarily prescribed in the workout. Mondays are usually squat and bench so I’ll try and do those together. If there’s an accessory exercise that doesn’t overlap too much with another accessory exercise, I’ll superset those. I do it out of necessity (I workout during my lunch break most days) but it’s worked well for me. Works better for Pool Season 1 than 2 with the way he has them written. I was in the middle of 2 when I got the rona a week and a half ago, going to have to restart that program next week from square one.

How does 2 differ from 1?

Great info from all, sounds like Pool Season 1 is the direction I'm heading.

Same basic layout as 1 with the main lifts. The %s and reps are a little different though. He’s got some different accessory work in there as well, including more lower body accessory work than in 1 (RDLs, lunges, wall sits, etc). I would say 2 was taking me on average 5-10 min longer to do per session than 1.

What do you guys think of the PPSA meal plan?

its pretty damn basic but gives you an idea of the amounts you need to eat to get bigger, similar to wendlers building the monolith and BBB meal plans he posted in those articles.

I agree with this. I superset some of the one's that he doesn't prescribe and the most I rest for is 2 minutes. Workouts are only about an hour like that.

W3 D4 of Arm Farm done.
This is the best. Need to start incorporating some homework with abs and calves.
Will weighted vest walks be enough to help grow some calves? I've been doing about a mile - mile and a half per day the last 2 weeks or so. Definitely ramps up my heart rate on the walks.
I haven't been tracking food intake at all. Just making sure I'm getting around 200g of protein and limiting processed foods, but I'm sitting at 202-205 range (6'5ish). And my physique is looking much more athletic so the consistency of not missing a workout for months at a time is really paying off.

Should work but will be a slow process, the dudes with the best calves are usually former fatties who lost a bunch of weight.
