Northwest Arkansas is lousy with coyotes especially in the city. It makes early morning runs edgy at best sometimes. So I know what you're going through there.

As for the down voting, lots of turds lurk this board. We even have a help board thread complaining about us.

Yeah, I was on edge. He just stopped in the middle of the trail and stared me down. Once he took the one step towards me that is when I went for the big rock. Then he took off. My heart stopped for a second.

Well I knew not to run but I tried it anyway. Had to stop at 9 miles but to make it worth it - at least in my mind - I sprinted the last two miles. 8:00 pace for the first “sprint” and a 7:15 pace for the last mile. So I guess I technically pr’d my mile time but now I’m running a 101 fever.

Soup and a beer tonight and hopefully I’m back on Monday ready to run.

Staying at Caesar’s Palace

I keep bumping up my goal time, probably gonna end up crashing and burning

Ended up doing a 4 week taper which has me nervous, feel like I may have lost something

All that being said, hoping to finish sub 3:10

I should have. I’ve run with colds before and the exercise has usually knocked it out. I took my temp beforehand and didn’t have a fever so I tried it. Wasn’t expecting the fever to hit me like this. Praying it’s not the flu.

Depending on when you measured your core temp may just be elevated from exercise

3:10 for your first would be stellar, man. Hoping you knock it out.

Here’s to keeping it between the lines Th-Sun in Vegas! Don’t need any binges prior to race day, ha.

Thanks! I plan on wearing my Garmin and my Apple Watch, so y’all should see the results on Strava pretty quick!

And I’ve already laid down the rules for the wife, nothing to crazy til Sunday night and Monday night!

A trail I love to run in San Antonio is covered in coyotes. Right by the airport, but I’ve seen one every time I go there.

They always hightail it away when I get close so I can never get a picture. Deer there have 0 fear of humans.

Long run this morning. 17.5 @ 2:13 143HR. Like every long run, I ran into a confident skunk. He was doing alright.

Got a lot of respect for the marathon guys on here. I can't at this stage in my training, imagine doing another nine at the easy pace I was doing yet let alone quicker for a race.

Same here man. I’m new to running, but after finishing a Half I ask myself if I could turn around and do it all over again and it seems virtually impossible in my head at least. I’d like to do a Full at least once but damn if it doesn’t seem like a monumental feat at this point.

Ran a half this morning at 1:46:49. Was shooting for sub 1:45:00, but I've been battling a head cold for the past week, and all the meds caused some hydration issues. Ran in my Aldizero Bostons for the first time. Great shoe for that distance. I'll be running with you soon Hogbody. Just have to figure a way to knock 20 minutes off that time.

14 this morning at a 9:57 average pace. My easy long run for the week. Nice to see my easy pace dipping below 10 min/mile. Especially since I was only supposed to run 13, but felt good enough to add a mile.
