I don’t think it’s black and white, I think what works for one person doesn’t always work for another

Personally it helps me mentally if I know I’ve gotten closer to race distance than 6.2 miles away

Just signed up for Running the Rose 54k in January. First ultra. First race over 25k. What did I just do.

That looks like a cool one. How tough is the course?

I honestly have no idea. TROT always puts on good events and it's a race that I can be ready for with my current training plan.

Had numerous friends run it. They all really like it.

Been sick all week. Cold symptoms and a bad cough. Got in two miles Wednesday and two this morning. Just haven’t had it in me to get anything else. I’m telling myself I’m going to get a good night sleep tonight and crank out 15 tomorrow but seems more likely that this week is a total wash.

Hour and some change this morning. Super controlled. Long run tomorrow and a break.

Been a pretty good week/month really since I started my speed regimen at the beginning of October.

Got in four miles today and finished slightly after sunrise and with a 49° outside temp. I even switched my running vest light to purple in the spirit of today. Tomorrow is my last long-ish run, scheduled for 8 miles, before next Saturday.

Got in 12 this am. Was pretty chilly and felt good. Took it really easy after races the last 2 weekends. 9:34 pace. Now for a day or 2 off.

6 slow on trails. Hammies have been dead since my 13 miler the other day so a slow run was what the doctor ordered. Did wonders.

8 miles easy this morning at 8:58 pace. Felt good. I've not run that far in a while. Weight down to 165, which is only 4 lbs off the Dec 1st goal I set in a bet with my daughter. I think I will get it. Cycle tomorrow or cut the grass. Time for a Reve Coffee Stout!

Got 11 miles in this morning so I can watch games later today. Did half on desert trails and other half on road. Felt good, pace was little high because of the trails and terrain.

Also had my first coyote run in. He stopped and took a step towards me about 20 feet away. I picked up a rock and was ready to fling it but he ran off.

My last long run before next Sunday. I think I'm mentally and physically ready.

A couple of new faces in the thread, which is great. Is everyone aware of our Strava group? (TD.com)
