What was the format?
2.1 miles, 40 minutes
200ft of elevation and very technical trails.
The 40 minutes felt generous until the technicality of the trail meant you didn't want to wait around after finishing your lap. After awhile I couldn't get any food down and stay, and with 40 minutes per 2 miles I couldn't "speed it along" to get past my issues. So I just got worse and worse until I called it

Easy 3 miles tonight. I’ve noticed recently if I do a warm up workout prior to a run session that the run session is way better. Meaning a 30-60 min low impact cardio session <145 HR, leads to a more productive threshold or better session later that same day.
Been doing double sessions recently and noticed this phenomenon.

6 miles at 142HR and 10:00/mile pace.
3 miles progressive threshold at 160,165,170 HR at an average 8:30/mile pace.
Drank beer. Ate wings.

Make sure to eat a pre-race monster Slim Jim. It's like rocket fuel.

Did you guys see where the L.A. Marathon is offering people finisher medals if they complete 18 miles of the marathon? They say it's weather related, with the race start in the low 50's, low 70's midday, and low 80's at peak temp.
Runner's World has an article about it, the race organizers are getting shredded online.

I would be absolutely PISSED if I was signed up for this, I can't believe the LA Marathon would be making me run an extra 14.9 miles to get my Ultra Marathon Medal. I WOULD BE TICKED

It's funny too. Usually you see a pretty even split of people defending vs people upset about any particular topic.
Like 99% of the comments in all the different Facebook groups that have posted it, are just dragging the organizers. It's awesome and hilarious.

19:29, totally undone by a deceptive course description and my own gayness.

6:16/mile isn't gay, it's great. But, you should have eaten a monster size Slim Jim like i said. It would have given you the edge you needed to break that barrier.
Great job!

I mean, did you decide to shove a dildo up your butt for 30 seconds during the middle of the race instead of keeping running?! You probably shouldn't do that going forward
