She has to have some kind of strange genetic mutation that allows her to store energy faster than she burns it.
I just don’t understand how some of these people keep going for so long without crashing or destroying body parts.

Looks like the race finished, some guy edged out Dauwalter at 283 miles. That's insane.

PR’d my 5K this morning. 27:43. It’s not fast, but it’s improvement for me. I could have gotten sub-27 minutes but got hit with a side stitch at 2.9 miles. Almost had to stop but did a limping waddle toddle to finish.

10 miles this morning through the rain but the temp was perfect
9 miles yesterday morning in 49 degrees and it was magical. Luckily I had just bought long running pants and a long sleeve shirt on Sunday and I needed every bit of it coming back into the wind
So the step competition at work started with 14 people participating. This week there are 5 total. I keep winning every week and beat second place last week by 50,000 steps and he's training for a 10k or some shite

Great job. Are you doing any regular speed work? I have not been doing regular speed work. Only twice a month or so. As a result, my biggest challenge with the 5k is getting my legs to move faster.

7.25 miles @ 7:53 yesterday evening. Good run for me. Usually don't go that fast for maintenance runs, but the weather was great and I hit 8:15 on my warm up mile so I just kept rolling, even pushing the effort for the last two to stay under 8:00 pace.

Didn’t run Sunday or Monday after the race, got a casual 5 miles in this morning
Definitely ate too much over the weekend

Not really. Mostly trying to build enough miles to complete a marathon. Barely hitting enough as it is.
I’m not even truly sure what my speed is. I PR’d my half marathon on Saturday on dead legs and little sleep and I wasn’t even expecting to. Just started a little fast and decided to keep going until then last 3 miles when I booked it at an 8:50 pace.
This morning I wanted to build on the work I did over the weekend and started a little faster than usual. Saw my first mile was run at a 9 mile pace and decided to push it to see what I could do.
I feel like I can maintain those faster paces but I’m not sure how long. I do know it’s longer than I give myself credit for.
Perhaps it’ll be trial and error after I run the marathon. Just see how far I can push an 8 minute mile or something. It always hurts like hell at first and continues to but I somehow can keep going with it if I try.

Got in 4 this afternoon in the drizzle. 7:52 pace.

As someone building to a big distance like aMarathon, you are on the right track of mostly slow miles. I do the same. 1 session of speed work every other week. On the weeks with no speed work, I do 1 tempo run, which is tough pace, but nothing I worry about not being able to complete. I'm seeing times drop with that little focus on anything but slow and easy.
Once I get my marathon legs, I'll race, then go back to half distance and throw in a lot more speed stuff to get faster. I'll have the base built up by then, but for now the focus is just getting up to that mileage and slow and easy makes it much easier to not get hurt

3 miles of hill repeats this morning.
6 miles trails tonight.
Felt good man. First trail run in a long time. I have a trail half in February so I need to get back out there more often.

My knees and ankles wouldn’t work if I did trails

Took a couple days off so that I don’t risk overtraining as I do every month or so. Came back yesterday and my legs were trash. It was like I had just run an ultra the day before.
Dunno what the hell is going on but I hope it’s fixed by Saturday for the 5k race.

Heavy legs this morning but I trudged almost 8 miles. Wish I would have had more time and not shitty legs because this was my view part of the jaunt on an absolutely beautiful morning

Saw your pace on Strava. I wish my legs were “trashed” like yours. Haha

Thanks. I’m thinking shoes had a lot to do with it and maybe it being much warmer and windy yesterday.
BTW
I’m about to review the New Balance 1500v 4 on the shoe thread soon.

I often feel sluggish after resting. Day after the first run back typically feels better.
