Well, nothing as dramatic as the last several posters. Easy 2.5 miles at an 11 min pace followed by 3 miles threshold at a 160 HR or 9 min pace. Then some Miller High Life’s.

If I had the answer to that I wouldn't have skipped today's run to rest and possibly skipping tomorrow during the middle of peak week

#killmenow

Luckily I got 3 huge 50+ mile weeks in this training cycle, so with my 20 mile run Saturday it shouldn't derail my training at all...

felt. I took yesterday off. Squeezed in 6 today and felt better after than i did before but still a struggle.

Im racing 10k on the track tomorrow night so well see how that goes. Was hoping for 33:00-33:30ish but may just take finishing as a win at this rate.

Not gonna lie, 10k on the track sounds miserable with that number of laps

Good luck baw, looking forward to hearing how it goes

Yea it’s definitely a mental battle. This is my first one on a track since college so I’m hoping having knocked out some longer distance races makes it feel easier.

Thanks dude!

Heat? Tough workout? Combination?

It is, but remember that your result will be a culmination of your training. One bad day (or one good day for that matter) will never make or break an entire cycle.

Have had a chest cold for 2 days and did a 7 mile progressive run today. It was actually a great run... just ended poorly

Statue to Statue this weekend. Excited about the race. Need to discuss maintenance plans from now until this Fall.

Same. I have 10k's on 4/6, 4/13 and 4/27. After that, races are far and few between until September.

I'm fat, and while working out has helped me lose fat and put on muscle, I'm still way heavier than I want to be. I'm slowly transitioning from taking long walks (walk 2 to 3 miles a day) to jogging. I have zero plans of ever becoming a runner, but I'd like to get to the point of a jogging a 5k with sub 9 minute miles not something that kills me.

I've been trying to walk/jog 12 minute miles and succeeded the past week on 2 miles or so of that a day.

Get a HR monitor strap. Calculate your zone 2. Exercise in zone 2 for 45 mins or more 3 or more times a week. My zone 2 pace started at 13 min miles when I started back in Nov. I've gotten that down to 11 min miles now. Goal is to get it to 9 min miles.

Had to drop out of my race tonight. Somehow got worse sickness wise last night and woke up struggling hard this morning. Just gonna rest this weekend and try to get myself right before the marathon.

Yeah. No thanks. I run the Mnt Brook High School hill about once a quarter. Only made it to the top once without stopping. It's brutal.

I'm bib 133 if you want to find me / do a warmup 1 mile with me when I get to the top. (I'll be turning around at the starting line and running half a mile out and back)

18.87 miles
1,869ft elevation

Feels cruel

Ran my race today. Couldn’t be happier. My target was 1:15. Hit 1:16. Paced it at 8:05. 5th in my age group and top 70. The hill and Stone River is what kept me from my 8:00 target. Had to walk most of it. Thought I made most of it up by hammering down after that. Going into maintenance mode now.

And yes, I’m on beer number 8 and 10:30AM.

Hunter about had a riot when the keg wasn't working for him

P.S: I was 1:24 which in my opinion isn't too shabby considering I had already run 10 miles and 1,350ft of elevation before it even started
