Step 1: wake up
Step 2: pee
Step 3: step outside
?????
Step 4: sweat
I had a nice 20-mile ride this morning in the damp darkness.

I’m older than you tiger but I had a mild case last year at Christmas. I sat out of training for about a week and ran a 50k in mid January. It wasn’t fast but I finished. Everyone is different but you might not see much impact at all. Good luck.

I had a very mild case of Corona in January 2021. I took two weeks off of running and then hopped right back on the pony with no issues (other than those which came from sitting out two weeks). I am fortunate.
If you feel lightheaded for whatever reason, STOP RUNNING.

Thanks, y'all. That's good to hear. I'll probably get back to it on Friday and will do some lighter running for about a week before trying to resume my schedule. Feeling pretty good--just a slight cough and some fatigue.

Super windy today. Tough run but hit my times. When doing out and back, especially for races, do yall use the wind to beat your race pace when the wind is at your back? Or use the tailwind to save energy?

I always try to end my run with the tailwind if I can. But far too often, I begin and end my run with a headwind. I still can't quite figure that one out

How do you guys do Leg strength workouts at the gym when marathon training? I'm nearing the apex of my training program and don't want to over work my legs.

Easy six today in the stifling humidity and fog.
I have a pretty standard tempo tomorrow - 1 mile easy, 5 at marathon pace (9:09/mi), 1 easy.
I have nothing on Saturday, and then 13 at 9:24 on Sunday.
Tapering is nice!

10k easy pace this morning.
Finished 2021 with 1390 miles.
Just received confirmation of getting in on lottery for my first 100 mile race - Yeti 100 on the Virginia Creeper Trail in late September

Taper week 2. 6 miles. 26 degrees. It felt awesome. This is the way January runs are supposed to feel

27 degrees here this morning. I live for these cold runs

8 miles in Little Rock this morning. 20 degrees, was great

Sprints indoors as I taper. I do not like it when it's sub 40 degrees.
The race is in 12 days!

My HR was like 135 on my run yesterday. Usually around 160 in heat
Posted on 1/4/22 at 2:36 pm to jimbeam
Yup, it’s crazy how much lower mine is in this weather

Nice 20 mile ride at 16.4 mph today. Average HR of 151.
Got a tempo tomorrow (2 easy, 3 at 8:13, 1 easy) and then an 8 miler at marathon pace Sunday. It’s supposed to be 39 tomorrow morning so I’m gonna try and tough it out like all you cool kats.
Then it’s race week!

Nice tempo this morning (1 easy, 3 at 8:13/mi, 1 easy), albeit on the treadmill because the wind chill was 31 degrees.
I have 8 at marathon pace on Sunday. Hope everyone has a good weekend!

Anyone running the Houston Marathon races?
My girlfriend is running the half and I'm running the 5K. I ran 10 miles on the trails last week but don't think my body is ready for its first ever road half yet.
We're getting tested this week, so hopefully plans don't change.
