REI had em on sale for 65 yesterday. Bought them on the spot with free shipping to boot. Might want to check that out.

Superior 3.5s. Once I bent that top lace area back and forth a few times (after that painful first run), they've beem awesome. I've beem goimg zero drop for years and love it. Have had various altras but like the superiors best. The 3.5s seem a lot more durable than 2.0s (I skippee the 3.0s)

I have the Torin 2.5.
The 3.0 is out now. Maybe a difference of note.
I liked the first pair I had.

Took a very light week last week. Got me behind on my mileage for the year but I had lost a lot of desire to get out there last few weeks with the heat and with not feeling great.

Good 3 miler in the rain this afternoon and ready to get after it with cooler temps coming my way.

Skipped the two mile run this morning and opted for a body weight routine. Felt like a middle aged fat woman trying to do a Richard Simmons video. I’ve gotten into good running shape. My body is pathetic though. Hmmm....

I saw that and was one click away; but got busy with other things. Will probably order a pair today.

Treadmill work this AM.

5' warmup

10' med pace
5' slow pace
6' fast pace
1' rest

x2

Running on a treadmill is torture most days.

Don't know if I want to run 4 miles this morning or do a metcon workout...

It's either 4 miles or

18min AMRAP
20 cal AB
20 burpees
20 pull ups

I'm thinking the metcon workout.

Got in a good 4 mile negative split early this am, felt great. Goal was to negative split and be in the 9:10 neighborhood, which is my goal HM pace.

9:46, 9:24, 9:10, 8:56, avg. 9:18

155 avg. bpm, 178 cadence. I've been focusing on improving my cadence/turnover.

Gym work planned for later this afternoon. Feeling good.

Got in a long slow run this morning. Felt like the air had water just floating in it. 13.25 miles @ 9:30 pace. Almost emptied my 1.5L Camelback.

Stopped at REI at lunch yesterday. I run with a head lamp when I have to run at night and the one I have is crappy. Been looking to upgrade to a better headlamp or a handheld for a while. Just so expensive for a flashlight. Got lucky and REI had the Nathan Zephyr Fire 100 for $10 yesterday. Grabbed the last one in the store. Can find them online for mid 20's, but I've never pulled the trigger. Always like 40-50 bucks when I see them in the store.

It's sad the little things that get me motivated. But I'm ready to run at night more now . I hated that damned head lamp.

I used to love running at night when I lived in a better lit area

May need to look into grabbing something as the days get shorter

Had a rough 7 miles today, didn’t eat after 4 yesterday and am thinking I wasn’t fueled appropriately

Disappointed today. Because of cake. Cake can frick right off.

We had some last night after dinner. I’ve been pretty good about avoiding heavy desserts for a while so I splurged a bit last night.

My heart was racing and I felt jittery all night. Didn’t fall asleep until around 2am and needed to wake up by 515 if I was going to complete my 7 mile run. Slept until 645 instead.

I’ll try to get it done tomorrow morning but with a 14 miler looming on Saturday, I’m not sure I want to push it too hard on Thursday.

fricking cake.

The reason I do endurance activities at all is so that I can eat cake. The longer I go, the more cake I can eat.

Really? I don't mind my headlamp at all.

I would certainly mind carrying something in my hand like that though.

I will carry a water in a hand carrier for long runs on necessity, but I would much prefer to stash and grab.

I hate things in my hands while running. Mostly because I run with my hands super relaxed and open.

I don’t think it’s diabetus (blood tests prove it is not) but I’m learning as I get older that I just can’t eat desserts. I feel like Superman when I cut out sweets entirely. Even better if I stick to low glycemic carbs like sweet potatoes.

It’s really frustrating how easy it is for me to lose hours of sleep. Easily my number one hindrance from dominating my goals.
