Very nice. I’m running 7.5 tomorrow. Pace goal is 1:08:36 (9:09/mi). I’d like to finish under 1:06:36 though.

That's right around the distance where I start to notice a dramatic shift in my fitness. If you are recovering well, you should start to notice that you can maintain an easy effort for longer distances after you start running at least one run 8 miles or more per week.

3N, Since I bugged out of that 15k, I’ve added the Back 40 trail race to my schedule again. I thought you’d be pleased with that. I’m doing way less races this fall so I think I have a better time this year at the event.

That looks like fun. I'll do an ultra one of these days.

No ultra for me. I’m just going to do the half and try like hell to set the course record if I’m not still reeling from the marathon. Last year they guy that won got me by like 3 minutes then I beat him in a road half by the same amount of time. I’m coming for my trail redemption.

that'll be fun.

i haven't done much since my race. travel and people wanted to go out to dinner every night and i had early meetings.

taking the week off and will jump back on it next week. i don't know when my next race will be but there's a 15k in December that's close and looks appealing.

Never force a run, ever

BRM,

That is solid advice. As a new runner , I look at my plan and I am willing to risk overtraining on a random 5 mile day because it "feels" so important to hit every run/box. Small part of me that thinks missing 5 miles in October will drastically impact my full in January.

All part of the learning process related to becoming a runner.

3nOut,

Thanks! I dont have any solid road race plans after the Houston Marathon so I'm excited to see/learn some trail stuff until I choose my next road race.

If you’re ever in the Austin or Waco area on a weekend I can get you on decent trails.

Toned it down and got 3 in at 8:55 pace tonight. Humidity is finally starting to drop.

I think am going to sign up for a 3 mile trail race on November 9th. I havent had a chance to trail run yet, but it looks fun as hell and I will just take it easyz

Figured out this morning that it’s still too warm for shirts, but today looks like the last day that applies for the first time in over five months. My second run will be abs out for Roots; no shirt mafia represent.

Hey TR! Almost got my shred on like you, you manly sumbitch. I’d post a picture, but last time we posted pictures Salmon got upset because HB, you, me made everyone in the thread too horny. Get well! I’m sure the neighborhood ain’t the same without you skanking around it for a 4am 5-6.

Raining this morning. Looks like I'll be running after the LSU game. That means no beer today.

I'm going to the chiefs game tomorrow night, though. I plan on getting my 12-mile long run in early and heading up to KC to tailgate at noon. I'm taking Monday off from work to recover.

My Autumn boner is rising. Tomorrow is the last day above 90 in the foreseeable forecast.

Great work. I’ve had my Adidas Boosts for a week and a half and still haven’t ran in them.

I’ve got 27 miles to get to 1k for the year and I want to knock that out this week so they’ll get in the rotation.

Hell of a way to start the weekend. I have got to try a pair of the Bostons.

Kick arse man! I'm so jealous that you get to run and race in one of my favorite cities and one the greatest cities in the world. Keep the PRs coming brother.

Ran a local 5k this AM. Found a good pacesetter and followed her the entire course. It was very flat and cool this AM. Dropped my 5k time by almost 2 mins. I timed 26:20. Waiting for the official. My first 5k was 27:58.

Kinda pumped. Shin pain has gone away. Need to get into some longer runs.....
