Damnit Burt you were only supposed to run 10 today. Now I gotta get an extra 0.5 to pass you

Missed my cool down because I had to get the car and pick up the wife after we talked. Plus I was feeling good in the Legend Reacts.

Y’all think we can get 1K miles one week in the TD group? We’re at 700 ish this week.

What percentage do y’all who do weekly long runs like to keep the percentage of long run to weekly miles to? I ask because my weekly goal is 30 miles at least and I had to do 15 today to hit it. I typically wouldn’t do 50% of my week in one run.

No. Not unless we add more members.

25-30 percent of total max for me.

@ 3N you’re about to get madder. I’ve been doing around 60 per week on non race weeks. Bout to start working a few 2 a days here soon.

nah. you guys are far superior runners than me.

i'm more angry about the guy in my local group that i know is waiting till tonight to get a run in and try to pass me.

he did 20 yesterday to catch up so i did 3 in the afternoon and 5 today. he's going to have to do a 10 miler on a sunday afternoon and i'm hoping his wife puts a kabash on it.

from now on 30 has to be the floor if i'm going to be 50k ready. in the summer that's going to suck hogballs.

I don’t think I’m a superior runner to you but if you’re going to beat me, I’m going to make you work for it. HB and me aren’t really naturally gifted at running, we just work really hard.

You’re too kind.... but WTF?

Based on my stats in Garmin I’m in the top 20% for our age group on V02 max, distance, pace, and time... but I know you’re top 5-10%.

I don’t say that to SYD.

We’d have to up the membership. We’ve been hovering under 50 for a good month.

Our top 10 every week is barely people getting over 25 outside of a few. Which is fine, everybody runs for different reasons.

How did these turn out? My wife is making the beet and carrot muffins right now. They are a great way to start a running day. The pulled pork bowls are the shite as well.

Came out really good. Made one of her pizzas tonight also. Her dough recipe is easy and mostly wheat.

I like my shite burnt.

I’ll have to try those 2. I like the recipes because they are quick and easy. We usually already have most of the ingredients. Making her Turkey Trot meatballs tomorrow, but gonna use Bison.

That pizza looks delicious. I love killing some Mediterranean style pizza before running, but I tend to stick with my less than healthy dough recipe.

I can vouch that these are awesome as well. And that's coming from a Dago that makes meatballs too often.

Baby #2 is coming tomorrow. Running is about to take a hit for the next few weeks.

I'll be doing the 10k push up challenge for April though to keep me active.

Hoping to hit this summer hard though.

Also have a bday coming up and a new Garmin is on the agenda. I'll finally be able to join the cool kids.

i hear good things about the instinct. my forerunner is doing well, but the charge is getting a bit less lasting by the week. hoping around christmastime to have a new one.

Got a fun 10.25 miles in Saturday with a good group.
8:22/ mile pace.

eta: yea I am about a 20 mile a week guy on average, when I did my training block for my full I got up to around 40 a week, but I generally only run 2-3 days a week

Incoming run and poop story.

Learned a new lesson on Saturday for my long run. I've been testing different food options prior to my long run. I started with nothing and feel fine through ~12 miles but start to fatigue. Moved on to a banana, then bagel, and now I'm testing protein bars.

Tried just a Cliff bar and water ~20 mins before I set out. First couple of miles were still a little groggy at 4:30 am, but felt strong. After mile 12, I had only stopped to cross streets and felt really good. Then the stomach rumbles began. My splits went from 10:15/10:25 to 9:15 when I realized I was about to explode on the side of the road.

With no gas station near me, I sprinted home ~2 miles to barely make it to the bathroom. Left the front door wide open on my entrance. Finished with only 15 and disappointed because I felt really good and could have easily hit 17+.

Strava. It's an app for iphone or android and there's a TD.com run group.

if you run with a garmin or another smart watch it can send the data to strava.

then you can have BRM and HB squat thrust a traffic cone all over you and make you feel like less of a man.
