Did Hog and Burt ever meet up?

Both those assholes just topped me in the leaderboard for the week.

Yeah man awesome job for a “training run”. Pumped to see what you can do when you lay it all out. Of course, excellent job also BRM. Nailed it as usual.

I laid it all out 4 weeks ago! Burt is a machine.

I saw him and his manly beard afterwards. We may try and hit up a 5K in a few weeks.

Looks like Burt qualified for the NYM easily, which was a goal of his. Awesome. Check!

Yeah, that was a tough one. I finished 13th overall. Really wish I could have got a top 10. My grade adjusted pace was 6:10 so the calculators and my training was right on the money. Long course 1:21.57 for 13.19.

My actual half time was 1:21:30. Not bad for my second half. Wife is pretty upset; she DNFed but she'll get over it. Looks like even though I didn't get any points, I still got third in the 7 race series. Thanks to everyone for the support.

Pizza time suckas!

I always enjoy unapologetic eating after a half. Sorry for your wife, but she can get back on that horse.

Great job Burt.

Sucks about your wife, Burt. Injury or just gassed? At least she’s out there. I’m treading lightly with mine still, post pregnancy. She’s dropped 30 since she had our son, but nowhere near racing weight! Lol

Pizza sounds phenomenal! Although I haven’t “earned” any in awhile, so staying away.

I’m in the middle of whipping up an afternoon snack of sweet potato chickpea cakes from Shalane Flanagan’s book.

And as far as Barkley — Laz lit the cigarette 5 hours ago apparently. I don’t have Twitter. Anybody know how I can follow on Insta/FB?

Results are up now

Only person in top 100 with a negative split

Apparently I was 150th at the 10k mat and finished 70th

First run post knee injury. Two months off. Some minor pain. Maybe 3 or 4/10. 3 miles. Walked the first to warm up. Jogged about 2.25 at 9:30 pace. So nice to be back I could cry

Probably the whole race. To put that into perspective, that's out of 2100 people folks.

Thanks again guys!

@TR and 3N My pre race meal is always my favorite race meal.

Steak, mac and cheese, rice pilaf.

@TR She just wasn't ready and couldn't handle the course. A lot of it was in her head.

Based on Strava she hasn’t been running that much unless she stopped recording runs there?

She doesn't record a lot of her runs. Even still, she was only about 20 miles a week tops I think.

Reset this coming week and I'm going to switch my plan to do a fast 5K 6 weeks from now before the summer mileage build. I'm in about 17:30 shape so let's see where I can get it from here.

Yeah, but that means I have the privilege of not having to submit the lottery for my first chance from what I understand? It's first come first serve and I have no idea what the guidelines are for that. Fast time and fast internet? Fast time early in the year? It's pretty cool to say I qualified though thanks man.

Yeah that’s a good question. No clue how that works.

My only hope for any Major is the lottery for sure!

Finished the season's last half marathon this morning.
Temps were up more than I like, 65 degrees, and it showed with a slower time for me.
Running, higher temperatures, and me don't all like each other.
Once it gets to the upper 50's, it starts to affect my running.

I’m good till 70. After that I get pissy.

To my Arkansas boys, I felt your wind frustrations yesterday afternoon.

One guy and I in my local run group shoot for highest mileage every week and I went about 5.5 yesterday on trails and he did about 20 to try and catch me. So I figured I’d do about 6 at my kid’s practice yesterday to pad my stats.

30 mph wind just kicked my arse up and down the track. I’m obviously a little dead legged from trails in the morning but I had to give up at 3. I don’t know how you guys do it.

Three races left before summer. A 5K a 2 Miler and a trail 25K.

Goals:

5K < 17:30
2mi < 11:00
25K < 2:00:00

I'm at about the same level I was as a junior in high school. Gonna keep working my arse off and hopefully stay injury free during the fakakta southern summer.

Time for new goals boys, were breaking them too quickly.
