Nice. I’ll believe it when I see it. Got a feeling you’ll end up 6:30-6:45.

Beautiful day here, but opted for an IPA out back rather than running today. Give the legs and mind a break from the grind.

I'll have both later after work. Gonna get 5 miles in when I get home, then an IPA (OK, probably 2) on the patio afterward.

My tolerance for beer is really low nowadays. Not sure if it’s the drop in bodyweight or because I rarely drink anymore. I don’t buy it anymore but I got a guy I work with into the beer game a year or 2 ago and now he brings me back beer from everywhere he goes. I don’t have the heart to tell him I don’t really drink anymore, haha. He just brought me a haul back from his trip to Knoxville/Asheville. If it’s in my house I’ll drink it for sure.

I was asking because I emailed them my LA half results and I had a 1:37 and a 45:10 10k split so they gave me a waiver for Corral C

I had a qualifying 5k at a recent race that was online and the Garmin data, but they preferred the LA splits..whatever floats their boat, I just wanted to start with the faster group to try for a poster

You'll be totally fine for a poster with a time like that. Did 44:xx and got one a few years ago, if you're splitting 45 in a half you can cruise and get one.

Welp, I have a new issue

I’ve worn boxers for years when running without ever a problem. Today I encountered a problem...and I have a feeling I’m gonna be crying next time I pee..it’s bad.

What do y’all run in again??

I've run in running shorts with a liner ever since I started running more than ~5k. I have had tip O'-the-dick chaffing though. You dont know how bad it is till the first post run pee. Hint......its bad. One particular pair of shorts did it multiple times. Never any other.

So I missed all my races this year . First time that's happened. Injured for marathon, new job role squashed time available for 70.3 in two weeks. Just catching up after about 4 months. But getting back in the swing. Shooting for 25 miles a week thru the summer then kicking it up again in the fall.

I’ve only encountered the tip-o-the-dick chaffing once. It was with a pair of no liner shorts. Never again.

Ran in a new pair of Baleaf shorts today. $17 from Amazon, and so far they are great. I have no idea how long they’ll last. But considering the price of shorts from the big names these days, they are worth a shot.

Shorts with liner here. 4-5" is my sweet spot length wise. Grabbed a pair of the Academy brand BCG the other day for $15 and they are now my favorite shorts. No more spending $50+.

That said, the Rabbit Quadbangers fit really well also. Perfect length and not overly snug in the nether region.

All my BCG shorts fell apart fast except 1 pair. I have a couple pairs of Patagonia running shorts that I've run in for 3 years with no issues. On sale they were still like 50 bucks a piece though. Also have pairs of Brooks and Solomon shorts that are very comfy with lots of storage for gels. I expect to get years out of all those as opposed to 6 months I was getting out of BCG.

Yeah that's kinda what I'm expecting. Another pair that I like are 5" Reebok 2 in 1, which is basically a short with half tights underneath. Not a fan of shorts over tights generally but at least with these I don't have to worry about my nuts getting all jammed up and having to readjust constantly.

Got those Reebok at the outlet mall for like $20. I'll usually hit up Adidas/Reebok/Nike sale racks at the outlet when I'm nearby.

Ouch. I cut the liners out of my run shorts and just wear compression underwear underneath. I’ve never had any dick chafing issues going this route but it sounds scary af.
