know a couple folks who use it. Their commercials are purposely vague. It's a mindset thing. It addresses the psychological issues people have with food. It isn't necessarily a diet tool as much as it is an "adjust your mind and change your lifestyle" tool.

Is it just with food or can it be advantageous with other habits? I’m a little intrigued, though very skeptical. And have no idea about pricing or any kind of contract.

I've been on Noom since November. I have lost 20 lbs so far I was charged $130 for a 6 month plan. The best way I can describe the plan is its like having a therapist and a life coach all in one. Each day you are given articles that take about 15 min to read that teach you the psychology behind why we put things in our face and alternative healthier strategies we can implement. Some articles are extremely insightful and others are things you probably already know.

When it comes to eating nothing is off limits but foods are classified based on caloric density. Green foods are the least dense are usually things you can eat more of compared to the Yellow and Red foods. Again nothing is off limits and as long as you stick to your daily allotment of each type of food you should lose weight.

You are also assigned a personal coach and a group that are meant to help you along in your journey. The coach checks in on you once a week to help with any troubles you may experience and to keep you accountable for your goals. The group is mainly there for moral support.

Overall I have been pleased with NOOM. The plan works. I eat my allotment stay within calorie ranges and I lose weight. The coach and group I really don't care for. They don't much for me when it comes to lighting a fire under my butt. It may just be the type of person I am. Where I think NOOM succeeds is the daily articles and information and color coded food system. I still have about 25 more lbs to go but I feel confident that I will reach my goal.

Those coaches are little more than shitty scripted bots. I gave Noom a try but I wasn't too impressed.
