It was called Formula 47. I used to unload the 50# cubes of it from the Martin Brower trucks. It was a blend of beef tallow and vegetable oil. It wasn’t 100% tallow

sounds great, but tallow sourced for this today would likely come from CAFOs, with-god-only-knows what gathered in that tallow. Anyone have any info on what, if anything, gathers or is stored in ruminant fat during growth?

If I had some organic fast-food restaurants in my area, they'd get a lot of my money.

Don't like your food cooked in seed oils? Get pissed that you can't find whole milk in any restaurant in the nation? You can thank this a-hole

About the time it was being phased out.

This of sorts. Beef fat and cottonseed oil. I unloaded the same cubes.

I worked there from 83-88.

Like everyone else they also made everything from scratch at locations. My Mom couldn't eat a Big Mac the rest of her life after working at McDonald's as a teenager and having to make the Big Mac sauce. Also refused to eat Thousand Island Dressing.

Bingo. The food sources of today are nothing close to natural or wholesome from the ground up. You can find it, but need to spend some cash. It's worth it IMO but you still don't know everything that's in the food you consume.
