Krauss is the man, I've been following him for awhile. I don't know how he co-exists with Willett. Willett truly is a hack and I can't wait for him to go.

How is posting podcast and blog links "worked up"? I agree with you that I wouldn't think much about cholesterol if I were OP, as long as trig:HDL is under 2:1 (1:1 would be preferable).

But nope not worked up. BigScrub and I were just pointing out that just because nutritional advice appears in a magazine bearing the name Harvard doesn't make it sound.

Also, I don't know what your diet it is to comment on whether your exercise focus over your diet makes any sense at all.

it makes sense to me, I have not changed anything in my diet over the last 5 years, and my bloodwork continues to look better year over year.

Look I recommended the specific berries and kiwi for a reason, the micronutrients gained from those is more than worth the little bit of sugar. A little fruit is not going to raise his cholesterol nor is it going to make people fat. If his numbers were way off that would be different.

Some of y'all couldn't see the forest through the tree if the limbs we're slapping you in the damn face. Eating 100g of blueberries, 100g of spinach and kale and a kiwi in a smoothie is not unhealthy in any shape or form. A it's not enough sugar to spill over after replenishing liver glycogen to really cause fat gain. Second it's going to be burned off pretty quickly and third it helps with alkalinity which a ketogenic style diet tends to do the opposite.

Have you looked into the O6:3 ratio in free range versus caged and shite-fed?

Yes free range is an much better but still not great. Most people assume healthy equals chicken breast where the ratio is something like 17:1. That shite isn't healthy for most. Beef is something like 3:1 or something like that.

The free range thing makes biggest difference from eggs from what I have scene.

What about steaks and chicken skin?

I eat steak twice a week and maintain a very healthy lipid profile. Better than when I was in college and eating pizza and pretzels.

It's fine if he wants to have it, but I don't agree with this. I don't know about the effect on fat gain, but it's hard to believe a sugar bomb of that size is good for metabolic health.

I assume that wasn't directed toward me. I didn't comment at all on those things.

My food/exercise comment was to previoua poster believes that his exercise regimen (I may have said regiment accidentally) has fixed his blood panel without any dietary change. I just said I couldn't comment at all without seeing a full lipid, inflammation and insulin resistance panel and knowing a thing about what he ate.

You're talking to the guy (me) who's been known to take a glucose bomb with exogenous ketones while already in deep nutritional ketosis, before intense exercise. I also eat fruit and a lot more carbs than your average LCHF fanatic.

A whole 35g of carbs is a sugar bomb? Wtf this is why people can't take you seriously most of the time. And 35gof carbs like that is actually very good if taken pre workout. And how many times do I have to tell you carbs play very very little role in metabolic effeciencies in the grand scheme of things? You have absolutely zero proof it does.

Look nobody gets fat from eating g too much fruit. Let's not all be stupid and just admit that.

I guess it's all relative. That is more total sugar than I would eat in most full days. And it seems unlikely that would be the only sugar he would have in a whole day as well.

Efficiencies? I'm talking about health. I'm not arguing about some caloric effect.

I did. I used to absolutely gorge on the stuff with the mentality of "I can't believe this is good for you...it's like nature's candy!". I was eating an absolute shitload of grapes, apples and peaches on a daily basis. Looking back, I estimate I was taking in over 200g of sugar JUST FROM FRUIT daily. I find the idea that you can't eat too much fruit because it fills you up so much laughable.

I believe this is EXACTLY the configuration that the OP's lipid panel exhibited...you know, the one his doctor looked at and thought something should be done about.

I actually believe this to be true too.

But you still didn't get fat eating too many peaches

I mean, my diet wasn't 100% fruit, but I literally ate copious portions daily like candy (and with complete impunity ). Yes, it makes me piss like a racehorse. No, it doesn't fill me up quickly. I'm 6 1, 165 at present. At that time, I was pushing 200. (I'm a natural ectomorph, so even when I'm "fat", I'm still "skinny fat".)
