Legit joint health supplements, do they exist?
Do legit supplements exist? Glucosamine and chondroitin were a craze years ago, but I'm pretty sure they have been debunked.

Is there anything legit worth trying to prevent cartilage/joint degeneration? I'm starting to feel a little occasional pain in my hip and I'd like to do what I can to slow down the progression.

Any advice appreciated.

Define “eat clean.” What exactly are you eating?

I don't eat any processed foods and I eat very low carb. Meats, green or non starchy vegetables, minimal dairy. I'm in the gym 3-4 days a week.

You should eat carbs on the days you train. Help build and repair muscle. Sweet potatoes are a great choice.

Titanium is your friend. Replace those old inferior calcium bone joints with titanium metal and super HD polyethylene liners. Ceramic is also possible. Going on three years for me and my hip joints couldn't be better.

Collagen. I added it to my post workout shakes and it helped me a ton.

Glucosamine did absolutely nothing for me. May have even made it worse.

I 2nd collagen. There are a bunch of collagen supplements out there. Mine is a coffee creamer and has MCT oil. It tastes good too.

Also, hip pain can be a myriad of issues including your gate, weight, over exertion, poor form, sleeping wrong, actual medical injury.... Your gym may have a trainer who could help you out with the first few. See a doctor for the rest. For sleep, check your mattress. It may be worn out. We have a king and when my joints hurt in the AM, we rotate the mattress.
