Lsu777 - didnt you do this program? I downloaded it from someone's Google drive way back a year or so ago, but never actually followed the program. If so, any thoughts/pros-cons?

I'm just looking for something to give me a routine/basis to follow when going in the gym. I recently got bored with what I was doing week in/week out and felt like I wasnt progressing. I dont need all the info on meal prep and everything that is included, but its very informational.

I saw this new ad pop up advertising Hard to Kill program and Atomic Athlete. Look interesting too. I know....just get in the gym and lift.

His actual workout program if you go through it is pretty basic and nothing special

his nutrition and intermittent fasting is where the results come from

If you can workout 5-6 days a week, I would suggest this one:

T-nation - Natural Lifter

His program is an off shoot of Martin Berkhams the leangains method and uses reverse pyramid training with the lifts combined with some rest pause techniques in some of the programs.

I haven't done the program but do have them all and use portions of the programs at times in my own training.

Greg is a huge douche, but his programs do work. Imo many of his programs are better designed from an upper body hypertrophy point of view compared to Martin's original approach. He sucks at programming lower body lifts though because he doesn't like them and thinks it makes the legs big and feminine (fricking blasphemy)

Btw the lean gains bulking program is posted in the LG file, it is new.

Oh and kinobody is boring, it's nothing sexy, just heavy arse lifting and simple double progression. But it works like all programs designed like it.

Thanks.

I kinda thought it was boring too, but itll help get me back into the gym...its a start, right?

Are there any programs that maybe mix weightlifting one week then kettlebells, ropes, bodyweight, etc the next and so on? With cardio(running/eliptical,etc)mixed in the non lift days. To keep things different. Or is that not recommended?

I was doing 6 days a week, lifting on M/W/F(just same dumbbell workouts week after week...bench,rows,etc) with treadmill on T/Th and whatever random shite I decided to try on Saturday when the gym was empty.

How are big legs feminine? Sure. He has a chiseled six pack. But does he have the hip and leg drive that women actually want in a man?

The only thing Kinobody and Greg O’Gallagher are good for are the hilarious spoofs on YouTube! So funny!

I think it’s funny when he pans out to this massive mansion that you know he didn’t pay for. Then he goes on and on about indulgence while showing him and his paid for model friends eating at some steak house, chugging wine. No, douche. That’s not how it works.

I've been seeing more and more ads pushing this. V-shred is one that comes to mind. Obviously they pop up on instafacechat once you search any type of workouts in the google machine. I'm not trying to follow his lifestyle or buying into the eat and drink all I want and as long as I work out I'll look like that. I'm just looking for a well balanced routine to take into the gym. I'm happy with the muscle I have, I just want to trim off some lbs and tone up.....not get zwole

He doesn't promote that at all, Greg promotes a very strict diet template

IF around 16(this is flexible)
Protein at 1g per lbs
Same with carbs

Ends up at around 40/40/20 or 40/30/30 depending on the program you are on.

His nutrition plan is spot on and honestly I think he gets the most impressive results in the business when it comes to aesthetics. He’s just a MASSIVE toolbag.

Question:

Started today, but am a little confused.

Bench: 2 sets - 4-6 reps, 6-8 reps (rpt)

Since the RPT is your heaviest set, do I do that set first? The way he lists it and the way he says some things are confusing. Or are both sets RPT?

Both sets are RPT, first set is heaviest set, using a weight you can do 4 to 6 times. Second set is 10-15% lighter than the first.

When you can do 6 reps on the first set, you go up in weight on both sets. Until you get to 6 reps in the first set, second set weight continues to stay the same and you shoot for rep records. This is the dependent model.

All sets are taken to failure, but you don't fail during the rep on purpose. You stop short of that by one rep.

Thanks. I did it wrong this morning, but at least it got me back in the gym...lol.

It was weird only doing 2 sets though(outside of a couple warm up sets) and taking a longer rest.

Have you read anything from Martin lately? He’s a douche supreme.

Yeah and he may be worse than Greg in a lot of ways. I actually like Greg as a human, he us a douche but I good and kind human being. I can't day that for Martin, at all. I honestly believe he is a terrible person. He is mean and hateful, he holds grudges and belittles people. He also can not take disagreements at all.

He was a model and has done this since, so essentially he has never had a real job.

I appreciate what Martin has brought to the table, but he is not someone I would want to be around at all.
