Anyone tried this?

I have a limited gym here at work that's free. We have a set of dumbbells up to 50 lbs and also have kettlebells up to 50 lbs. I was looking for a simple full body workout plan and found this book. It is literally two exercises: Turkish Get Up and Kettlebell Swings. 100 single arm swings (50x2) and 10 Turkish Get Ups (5x2) per session with a progressive increase in weight.

Can it really be that simple?

General conditioning and weight loss. I run as my primary exercise activity.

Have the book for almost 3 years, never read it. Let us know how it goes.

Look up “King Kettlebell.” It is a CrossFit workout.

Weight loss is predicated much more on diet (Calories in vs TDEE) than exercise.

Thanks. The point of my post being you don't lose weight solely from lifting/working out which is one of his two goals.

I've not done the workout but the answer is yes. First off, you won't get huge just using kb, but seems like you get that. You can build a lot of strength and really improve your flexibility and mobility. High reps of 50lb single arm kettlebell swings and/or cleans and 100lb front squats would give any serious lifter a good workout.

I probably incorporate KB swings in either warm-up or accessory work in 80% of my workouts and I really like enjoy them.

1 of his 2 stated goals is to lose weight. This plan won't accomplish that on it's own. That was my only point.

Sorry to offend you.

Yes it's fine for your goals. You won't build much muscle though.

But add in press, kb clean and press, snatches, kb squats, overhead squats, curls, tricep extensions, rows, etc and there ya go.

Day one and I’m a believer in the Turkish Get Up. Wow.

This is interesting. I just started the Onnit kettlebell workout yesterday. From the looks of it it is a 6 week program and I was wore slap out yesterday. I was sweating about as much as I do when I do HIIT on treadmill. Session lasted about 45 minutes.

I haven't looked into all the various exercises. I would imagine the Turkish get up is in there somewhere.
