I maintain a healthy weight all year (175 pounds at 6’0”), but every year going into summer I do no carbs for 30 straight days as somewhat of a reset/mental challenge. Been doing this since about 2015

Started after Good Friday this year. The grind the first few days sucks, the hunger, mental fog, etc

But like clockwork day 5 is awesome. Your body stabilizes and you just feel incredible. Zero bloat, you feel fresh etc. It’s not a sustainable diet but for a period of time every year it’s awesome.

I tried carnivore for 3 weeks and hated it. Work outs greatly suffered.

So for me, no...no carbs never did become awesome.

Your muscles need carbs for recovery. If your workouts and recovery don't suffer while intaking 0 carbs, you aren't working out hard enough.

are you doing zero carb (carnivore), or are you still eating fruits and vegetables?

I can do low carb (currently doing 80-100 gr), but no carb wrecks me

Less than 10 a day. I simply don’t say zero because I’m sure I pick up a few here or there without knowing

less than 10 is still pretty hard unless you are doing carnivore

I'm already at 50 with the apple, mandarin, and Kill Cliff I've had this morning

I eat eggs, meat, chicken, fish, cracklins salad with ranch etc

It’s just no carb. What’s this carnivore you keep mentioning?

basically just meat, eggs, butter and honey

a lot of people consider "no carb" to mean no pasta and rice, while still eating lots of fruits and vegetables, so I always kinda check to see what people mean when they say "no carb"

Nah I try to be truly zero for 30 days. But like I said I pick up a few carbs here and there from lettuce and such I’m sure

You weren't getting in enough fat most likely. If not eating carbs you have to have enough of another fuel source (fat).

Lifting while you feel like everything had pulled out of you(not sure how else to describe it) is glorious. The pump is so much better.

Now, I don’t think I could have down tennis training like this. Which if you are still doing your hippie running shite I see why it’s tough

Not just running. Try doing HIIT without some glycogen stores and get back to us.

I did a month no carb, then did a carb up with McDonald's hot cakes. It put me into a blissful coma.

Day 6 with carbs.

Seriously though. Everyone is different, but for me personally, I do considerably better with low carb vs no carb, especially my workouts.
