If you stay in caloric deficit then yes. It’s just fish (protein) and rice (carbs). If it fits in your macros and caloric count, eat it. I save sushi and sashimi for Sundays.

Agree with what DefJam says, you should weight it out to get an idea of calories your taking in from protein and carbs.

Fish is good for you but there is a mercury toxicity risk if you eat it too much

He said sashimi.

I agree with the mercury comment. Outside of that, I wouldn't be surprised if a sashimi-only diet was very healthy.

You're thinking of Nigiri. Sashimi is just the fish.

Depends on how it fits into your overall plan. It's just eating fish every day.

The mercury issue is real, but beyond that, it's just making fish an everyday protein source. It's fine, but the overall weight loss effect will be mostly about your overall plan and how the sashimi fits within that.

Which is why you should work in plenty of fatty cuts also (e.g. toro).

This dude ate salmon sashimi every day and wound up with a 5 foot long tapeworm

I'd think it's probably healthier to occasionally partake in sashimi but cooked fish is probably better

Where you get it also matters. The cooked sushis at Rouses are probably fine, but I would be weary of the raw. Not that I think Rouses is incompetent; they’re just not known for raw sushi/sashimi.

I eat ginger every day, so I'm halfway there.
